This is a huge opportunity for FM to take a player who was not developing at UNC and turn him into an elite player here. He certainly is not a bust. Not being able to crack UNCs lineup is nothing to be ashamed of, they simply had 4 other guards who were better than him. If he can develop here, that would be a huge selling point to SC players going forward.

He's going to have Moss, Lawson, Bolden, Hannibal, and Couisnard to compete against for PT. He may have the same problem here.

Very similar situation to Larry Davis. Woods was not only dealing with a lot of talent at PG, but he has had a lot of injury issues. There is no reason that he could not turn into a major contributor here.

He may very well get a waiver - the NCAA has been much more generous with that lately. Add in that Seventh is coming back home, and any family or personal issues that he can show will also help get him cleared.

A redshirt year might do him good, especially since Lawson will likely go pro after next season.

I thought about that and it may turn out the same way. Given the chance to play and excel, subs from premier basketball schools may find their game at another (less premier) school. I hope that happens for Seventh Woods like it did for Larry Davis.
