    Did we re-hire Shawn Elliot?

Good lineman hard to get much attention at abbeville, everyone credits their success to the system and level of play but to win the way abbeville does you need great online play and this kid may be the best they have had. A kid from this system will need time to develop as a pass blocker but that is what coach wolford is there for. Overall good pick up I think.

Abbeville has been doing really good the last few years so I would expect them to have pretty good players.

if he can add some good weight while maintaining the athleticism his highlights show he could be a diamond in the rough type of find.

He is not an Elliot type prospect! Jones did 28 reps at the Shrine Bowl combine. Ran at 4.69 @ 260#!

Shawn Elliot liked 6'6" 250# kids that ran 5.5 forties and pushed up 10 reps.

My guess is Wolf is hoping for a 290# center that runs 4.8 by the time he is a red shirt sophomore!

Fair enough. Frankly, the coach I trust the most is Wolfie. If he likes him then I’m ok.

Like this sign a lot, looking at those combine numbers. AJ Cann was 260 when he signed here. If Jones can pack some pounds while retaining athleticism, we have a good interior line prospect here.

I have also seen him listed as big as 6'4, 280lbs. Who knows what his real size is, but Wolfie saw him in person. Therefore, Wolfie must have liked him and has a plan for him.

Certainly a surprise commit...shows importance of these camps.

Will take time to learn pass blocking, and to grow his body....but I trust Wolford.

At the very least, could be a solid blocking FB/HB if he can't fill out to an SEC Oline size.

I forgot which camp it was, one at one of the bigger camps, he was in the running for the best OL. He started turning heads then. The 4.69 really did it for our staff. Lots of upside for this kid. I expect that he will be getting a bump in the ratings soon.

Absolutely. How in the world does a young man with this kind of athleticism is ranked only a 3 star? Not sure about his coaching or what camps he has attended but he certainly has the raw material to be a stalwart on the offensive line. I know everyone wants to see us sign 5* guys, but this guy should be way more than a 3*. Great pick up.

Who is this Shawn Elliot guy we supposedly had as a coach? Of course, I am busting chops on how people continually misspell his name.

Saying that, we have a good prospect in jones.

Jones and Fortune are the type of players that you don't mind the taking a flyer on. Both of them tested off the charts.

I keep seeing people commenting "he'll have to work on his pass blocking when he gets here." But in every other thread all I see are comments that the Oline needs to improve it's run blocking. What if ... he wants to bring in guys that already know how to run block for Lloyd and Tank, and feels he can teach them how to pass block?

Loved watching this guy's junior season highlights. He's playing at LT in most of the reps in what looks like a power run offense, but there a few reps of him pass blocking. Looks like a pretty strong guy that always initiates contact. Should be the perfect guy to block from the LG position in a couple of years. The Wolf strikes again.
