    Default Big George

The toughest schedule yet. A commitment to academics. Stuff happens.

Who will rise up this year?

    RIP Harold White.

Boy this message board is dead compared to the past.

in the past this post would have been commented on dozens of times. It’s like crickets these days with threads staying up top forever.

You guys should do an instagram and Facebook ad to say “we’re back” and or to promote clicks.

George Rogers was the only Carolina TB I have ever seen who could run for a TD on the short side of the field. Our offense was a lot of power blocking with pulling guards to get the numbers. Teams could not afford to leave the wide side unguarded because of the misdirection (Thanks to Garry Harper) so we could get 5 blocking 3 on the short side. Big George would weave his way through or cut it back against the grain and he was gone in a flash. Next to 1984 and 2009-2013 those years were the most fun I have had at a football game.

I remember watching the Georgia - South Carolina football game that was on TV back in 1980 when Jawja won the National Championship (That was also the same year that they borrowed the Golden Horse Shoe From Notre Dame), as we were rarely on TV back in those days. Big George was pretty much our whole offense and everybody stacked their lines to stop him. I remember at the end of the game (when Big George fumbled due to hurt hand), he was dragging Jawja players all over the field. Larry Munson was screaming into his mike that Jawja could not stop Big George and we all just felt that Big George was going to keep running the ball till he got into the end zone. Shame he got hurt as we would have scored and beat Jawja that day. If we would have had any type of good passing offense to take some of the pressure off Big George that day - we would have most definitely won that game and Jawja loses their chance for the NC.
