One week after standing out at the Next Level Nation 5 Star Showcase in Frederick, Md., the 6-foot-0, 180-pound corner made the trip south with several prospects from his area to test themselves against the fastest prospects in the country. As expected, the sophomore with offers from Rutgers and Connecticut more than held his own. His ability to stick the foot in the ground and burst showed up in drills and in one-on-one’s.

Fitzpatrick is developed beyond his years. The skills he showed not only on defense but on offense were impressive. As a cornerback, the sophomore stuck with his man wherever he went on the field and was not easily faked out. On offense, Fitzpatrick was a reliable target for his quarterback, making plays in key situations to help his team to victory.

Fitzpatrick turned in an extremely impressive performance. The 6-foot-0, 183-pound cornerback physically dominated his opponents. At one point, he jammed a receiver six yards out of bounds and took him completely out of the play. Although young, his technique is very polished compared to others at his age and he was a vocal leader for his team.

On Wednesday, class of 2015 defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick landed offers from Wisconsin and Ohio State to join offers he had already picked up from Miami, UConn and Rutgers. With his performance on Sunday, that may only be the beginning. The big cornerback looked like one of the best in the country at his position and he has a few visits planned this summer to give him some of his first college experiences.

Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan and Michigan State will all get visits on a Midwest tour over the summer. He also plans on taking a visit to South Carolina and Clemson while he vacations in Myrtle Beach in August.

Fitzpatrick is the former teammate of 2013 Vanderbilt signee Tre Bell and he noted that he hopes to get down to see the Commodores as well, thanks in large part to the recruiting efforts of Bell. Growing up though, Fitzpatrick was a fan of Florida under Urban Meyer and notes that a Gators offer would certainly impress him.

Skinny: The class of 2015 standout is a big, physical ball hawk. He didn't get the chance to face many of the top receivers at the event, but won the majority of his exchanges. Fitzpatrick was impressive in forcing receivers to the sidelines and tightening the throwing windows for the quarterbacks.

*A big, fluid cornerback, Fitzpatrick has the look of being one of the top defensive backs in the country for 2015. He could grow into a safety, but right now is a big-bodied corner.

Fitzpatrick already boasts a handful of offers, and many more probably are on the way.

From the first drill, it was clear that Fitzpatrick was the top defensive back in attendance. Already with great size at 6-0, 185 pounds, the rising junior also showed great fluidity and the instincts to find the ball in coverage even when his man wasn’t the intended target. While he has a frame that could bulk up to safety size with ease, Fitzpatrick has all the cornerback cover skills you could want.

Fitzpatrick definitely proved that he could play with the upperclassmen at the Newark RCS. At multiple camps this offseason, the 6-foot, 183-pound Fitzpatrick has shown the necessary technique and athleticism to be called one of the top defensive backs in the 2015 class. The excellent group of receivers at the Newark RCS wasn't able to expose Fitzpatrick. His outstanding performance in Newark earned him an invite to the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge in Chicago.
