99.9% of those crossfit leaders don't have a clue as to what they are doing. There are a lot of those lifts that are done improperly and way too fast, if you want to get stronger get a personal trainer but stay away from the crossfit if you don't want injuries like this.

while i agree, too many crossfitters try to do olympic lifts heavier than they should too fast. they should drop their weight, and focus on form.

that being said- regarding the pic you posted, you do realize crossfitters can take steps to protect their hands, right?

Cross fit gyms vary. Sometimes they actually teach form. It's a good community if you know what you're doing.

You do realize that studies have shown high intensity interval training, which crossfit includes a high degree of, has shown to be a better more efficient approach to fitness than long distance running and standard isolation weight lifting workouts, right?

I don't know what's going on in that video, but it seems to be 1-rep max-centric. Maybe this is just the workout they made for the clip, at the conclusion of a cycle. In my experience, with quick lifts, something like 5x5 hang cleans, followed by 5x5 push presses, with good form, is more effective, and more strength-progressive. Maybe throw in top-effort lifts on a cyclical basis.

Or get a brain and go buy some gloves, Crossfit is great for athletes as it keeps the muscles guessing, football Crossfit is used by almost every team in the country in one way or another!

Congrats on your youtube search. There are shitty trainers everywhere in every type of fitness methodology.

As for workouts - getting dropped in the pool - HIGHLY doubt it. HIGHLY....but I'm just speaking for me personally.

CrossFit Headquarters is the only governing body. Here's a newsflash - no fitness cert is regulated. That's the problem with the industry - you've got great trainers, and ones that truly suck, and not many ways to tell the difference other than word of mouth.
