go ahead and blast me now. What about Skip Holtz? He knows Carolina, he's energetic, he can bring Petty with him.

I'll stick with SOS for the next few years, hopefully after he DECIDES to retire we will land a big name or be able to fill the position from within our staff.

I don't care who the coach is as long as he is younger, gets good assistants under him, and RECRUITS HIS ASS OFF!!!

Skip would be a great option, provided he keeps winning. They were in the shitter before he took over. Don't forget.

Personally, and I know this goes against everyone elses opinion, I wouldn't mind seeing Reeves on a college sideline. I like old school coaches, always have, and think that no tolerance attitude would clean up a lot in Columbia.
That, I know this is kind of odd, I think USC really needs to hire one of its own at some point. Maybe not Reeves of course, but so many schools have hired a graduate at some point and seen at least some success. We need someone who understands what its like to go through the stuff the school always seems to go through. Get a guy with a little NFL time in him, understanding of the game, not forgetting his past and it would a good thing. Now, in about 15-20 years down the line... Sheldon Brown. That would be a guy I could really get behind down the road. Man is a football success, in college and the pros, and LOVES this school. He would probably coach his ass off. |

LOL, doubtful. The average age in the City of Columbia is like 29.

I am and always have been a huge advocate of bringing Charlie Strong back. People get all bent out of shape when he is mentioned but from what I remember (I guess I could be mistaken) our defense was fairly good under Strong. And since leaving he was one of the only coaches deemed worthy enough for Urban to keep from Ron Zook's staff at UF. And since Meyer arrived he has been the DC of 2 National Championship teams with good defenses....what gives people???

Theer's a lot of baggage out there and I'm really not interested in a DC or an OC from any level at this point we cant handle it. If we could hire one he would have to have perfect credentials and Charlie left with the tag "third and long Strong" meaning he could nver finish the job at 3d and long.
First interview on my list would be Skip but he may also have too much local baggage both ways BUT SOS AINT GOIN NOWHERS He IS way overdue in setting the offense and calling the plays

You could put God on the sideline and lose if your players don't play. Why would anyone want a coach other than Spurrier? He is one of the greatest and OH! the big thing, He doesn't want to go anywhere else. Guys we lost almost every good player we had last year and we are still 6-3. We could easily be 3-6. Be thankful for a great coach who can recruit talent and get some of them to play like they have talent. No one out there is better than what we have.
