2010 Baseball Predictions

Hey everybody what are your predictions for the upcoming gamecock baseball season?

I personally think that we have an excellent shot to make it to the cws this year. Let's bring back an sec championship and bring our first national title to where it belongs at THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA!

I feel the way you do, our outfield is going to be sick, maybe some more speed so some more small ball for a chance along with some serious power hitters, im kinda feeling a phillies like lineup with quick players but then you got some ryan howard long ball hitters, Carolina stadium is gonna be rocking

Lots of returning players mixed in with some newcomers. I think we should have an excellent chance to make Omaha next season. I think this will be the best team we have had in a long time.

After seeing players like Dyson and Ebert stay instead of going to the draft, I REALLY like our chances to make it to the CWS this year. I think our offense, like almost every Ray Tanner team, will be clicking. Our big question, once again, is bullpen. Can we find the right pitchers to come in and shut the opponent down with the game on the line.....We'll see come spring because the SEC will be tough as always, but I think we're going back home to Omaha this year.

when i talked to nolan last, anything less than the cws this season is not acceptable. Can't wait for baseball season

I think if we can get the bullpen to produce, we should be able to get to Omaha. I really think alot of it depends on the boys in the pen!

Do we have a solid chance to get back to Omaha this year? I haven't been keeping up with the rest of the programs around the country compared to ours.

The biggest threat to us right now in the sec east has to be florida. Their pitching is going to be great once again with the #1 recruiting class in the nation. We definitely have one of the top offenses in the nation no doubt. Our one worry right now is bullpen. Do we move belcher to the bullpen? It's really a matter of getting the most talent to where they need to be.

Sec biggest threats
Lsu-going to be great once again
Arkansas- Going to be a fantastic year for them
Ole Miss- The pitching is back
Florida- So much young talent

Favorites for cws this year
Arizona State
Lsu
Rice
Cal State Fullerton

If we get our pitching straightened out we will be a force this year.

Im gonna have season tickets for the first time this season. I went to alot of games last year as well as the regionals in Raleigh. I would like to be able to make the trip to Omaha this summer though. I will be leaving enough vacation time to spend a week there if we do go.

I've had season tickets my whole life trust me being on the 3rd base side is the best because you are right above the opponent's dugout. We also have the best fans in the nation for baseball. It's an experience. But take the shuttle to the games it's a fantastic service.

I don't know...sitting for years on the first row, right above our bat rack at The Sarge was darn nice! But NOTHING beats being on the field for games.

In all seriousness, as others have mentioned alot will depend on our pen. I liked what I saw the final Sunday of fall practice, on both sides of the ball. Ebert crushed a couple of them, one landed in the upper bleachers in left. Damn glad to have him back.

I always try to snag a seat on the 3rd base side after the 4th inning or whenever they let people fill in the empty seats. To me though, the best view is directly behind homeplate. Gave me chills sittin there when Ebert cracked that grandslam against UGA last year and Nolan shut them down
