I don't care how old they are.

But what you post in here will be a direct reflection of your musical tastes.

I will ask that instead on you making a different post for each Mixtape and Link you like - that you instead make one post and edit it as necessary to add or subtract music as you see fit.

When I think of mix tapes I think of tapes you made for your car to listen to back in high school before CD players and Ipods.

Maybe I am old now but am I missing something? Making a mix tape was something you did for yourself or making a tape for a chick that you liked.

That is one version of a mixtape...as a soundtrack - to a love one, for working out, for roadtrips, etc....with the popularity of mp3 players and satellite radio, mixtapes are becoming obselete in their truest form.

The version of mixtape to which this thread is dedicated is as a blend of songs picked by an artist or DJ as a promotional tool...this form goes back to the mid-70's...the mixtape is used as a street business card to get someone's name in the consciousness of a potential artist...with the low cost of cds and ease of cd burn/dub, mixtapes are becoming utilize more and more by artists atempting to draw an artist ahead of label album releases and tours.

....apparently it was not a good idea. i got picked on about this until high school.

to be fair, "Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw" was probabl an inappropriate song to include on the compilation.
