there really aren't any "serious" plans to expand the North endzone...honestly the scoreboard will probably push that back even further. We need to fill up our stadium though before we expand it.

Well let's see, Mississippi State is in the SEC. SEC Sends 2 teams yearly to BCS Bowls. This years total Payout was $36 Mil to split amongst everyone in the SEC. 36 mil, 12 teams, that gives Miss State 3 Mil right there.

Good deal. I was worried that they would use the expansion to push back the new board. That's not the case though, it sounds like. It's just that we haven't seen any renderings of a new video board that didn't include that expansion. Those plans have changed now, it seems. I agree we need to fill it again before we expand, and they definitely need that upgrade for the video board.

Whats the players look at the most when they have a chance...the screen..GET this piece of crap we got out of there and put a top of the line model up..and replace the ones around the stadium between the levels...they should be nice top of the line models..not that junky sheet metal ones we got with the spray paint look and the 40 watt lightbulbs in it..get it together or im not going to buy another scalpers tix to watch a game

Hyman talked about this during this weeks inside the roost. He flat out said that they paid to do a study and have decided against doing the stadium expansion pretty much ever. He said that they would spend the money on other things that could better be utilized like the farmers market.

I believe that's probably a good idea. I don't think we'll ever need any kind of expansion and that will probably be proven this coming year. I know we didn't win the national championship or anything, but we are coming off one of the best seasons we've ever had and this one has a lot of potential. If there isn't a sizable spike in ticket sales then there's not much reason to believe there will ever be one.

The economy in the state has an effect on attendance. At some point it will turn around and ticket sales will increase. I am glad we are finally doing something about the scoreboard. One thing I have noticed about other schools that have bigger boards is that the scores and stats are part of the screen limiting the size of the replay area. It seems that having that separate with less expensive scoring/stat display would maximize the boards impact.

Eh. I really don't care about expansion. Sure, when the economy turns around we'll have more demand, but man I couldn't GIVE away tickets this year when I had extras.

I'd rather spend the money upgrading the stadium and our game experience and then let the demand drive expansion in the future. There is so much that can be done to make our stadium one of the nation's best, and it should start with that chintzy-ass scoreboard.
