Some GCC insidrs said today that what they are hearing on the players on current roster has all been good so far where transfers are concerned. Martin and Figgers are going to the FF this weekeend for the coaches conventions and when they get back the plan is to finalize the coaching hires and then get on recruting trail.

And who knows, some of our guys who have struggled shooting may greatly improve under Martin.
I'm not expecting our guys to become lights out, but I think they will at least be able to make point-blank shots next year.

I agree - if anything, Frank will instill confidence, competitiveness and aggressiveness. Expect more drives to the hoop instead of settling for contested three's.

Can the coaches teach shooting to players at the college level or is it more about shot selection?

He's kind of a big deal. People know him. He has many leather bound books and his desk smells of rich mahogany.

Coaches should be able to do both, because there can always be a little tweaking of the shooting motion.

Either you can shoot our you can't by the time you get to college, played ball in college and with many college ballers and never heard of a coach improving not one players shot or changing it. They make you shoot or practice your shot, put you in game situations to learn when to take your shot, they can coach you on how to get ready to take your shot based on watching you shoot, but when you get to that level you can either shoot or you can't. Giving them confidence to take the shot is half the battle, basketball is like all sports, 90% mental!

I agree to an extent. But there are plenty of players that come in to college shooting like 55-60% from the foul line and leaving shoot 70-75%. The only difference in FTs is that they are not a part of the game plan and you have time to go through all mechanics. There is no time to really do this during a game however.

Martin and his coaches will improve their play all the way around. You will see at the very least us get better at just the fundamentals of the game. The players looked lost out there at times this past season and Martin will not have accept that. He'll teach our guys how to play smarter, hustle and use their talents the best way possible to help us win games.
