Obvious 2012 Differences

1. Nov. 10 game at our house
2. Off week prior to the game

4. Connor more experienced
5. Improved OL play

I'm not worried about our offense. I'll be very interested to see how Arky does with new receivers and no Bobby Patrino. I'm still furious about that 2011 game. Vandy laid a blueprint on how to beat Arky the week before. They put pressure on Wilson and he was on the ground all day. We should have been able to do the same. But we decided to play coverage the whole night and got torched.

I also remember there were no adjustments made defensively in the 2nd half by EJ....I dont think we will have to worry about that this year taking in the fact that Ward made some fine adjustments against the Huskers and shut them totally down...

It's amazing how often Arky blitzed in that game. Should have been a very exploitable defence.

All conf games are must wins, especially this year.

Arkansas has great playmakers and a great qb, but what made that team elite was Bobby Petrino. Without his play calling they will go down a notch or two. Yes, they kept the offensive staff but Petrino ran the offense.

Defensively they brought in two Ohio State coaches that Urban was going to let go anyway.

They will be good again, and could certainly win, but this won't be the same Arky team we've lost to the past two years.

The biggest advantage their D had all night was Jake Bequette doing whatever he wanted against our assortment of freshman RTs. This year, that won't be an issue since they have nobody CLOSE to Jake in skill, and unless we get destroyed by injuries, we'll have a very competitive T tandem.

Also, Cobi Hamilton is NOT Childs/Wright/Adams.

I agree with everybody who's stated that you HAVE to switch things up and blitz the passer when he's picking apart your coverage. If you're gonna get beat anyway, you may as well get a few hits in on the QB.

Petrino will be a coordinator in the pros before long. Didn't he coach in the nfl at one point? Was it Atlanta?

Yeah and he left them high and dry with NO notice. Good coach or not, no NFL team is going to take a gamble on him. It's not even a gamble really, it's more of a "you know he's going to bolt, you just don't know when."

If you give him a coordinator job, he'll bolt for a HC job in college. if you give him a HC job you can probably put more restrictions on his contract, but then you're making that pos YOUR head coach!

He'll be out of work for 2 years or so, catch on as a 1-AA coach somewhere who's desperate to win and likes the bargain and risk/reward, rack up some wins, and if he keeps his nose clean he'll get another shot somewhere of consequence 3-5 years after that.

Can't stand the man, but he can coach. Just watch, he'll go through image rehabilitation, do a tearful TV session admitting all to Kirk Herbstreit on a GameDay special interview, and the scandal memories will pass.

January of 2013 he'll be named the new head coach at either Tennessee or Kentucky.

I wouldn't trust him as a head coach but I think I would have to see what he could do as an offensive coordinator given what he did with Arkansas. The risk is relatively small versus the reward if he stays which, as you pointed out, is not guaranteed. It is easier for me to believe he would take the OC job as a way to get back into football and stick with it for a couple of years with the hope that it is helping to rehabilitate his image and mend his reputation, as an offensive guru, as a stable coach and as a sane man.
