lmao. See we can give honest opinions here but everyone should have voted Connor Shaw. I mean... At this point I'd put Wilson, Murray, Shaw in that order as top 3 QB's. BUT! I believe Shaw will have the better season in 2012 of the three. So my vote is honest regardless lol
PS: Shaw is at 62%

I believe that Wilson is the best qb. That being said all you need to win is a good qb that has time to make decisions, and that those decisions are good ones.

sure wilson and murray are physically more talented and experienced at this point, but its not a complete homer pick if you think shaw could be the best this season. tyler wilson was only .04 ahead of him in passing efficiency for 1st in the sec. on top of that shaw is arguably the best running qb in the conference with respect to mizzou's qb.

I'm not so sure Murray is better than Shaw. Personally in the same offense I'd probably say they are interchangeable.
I do agree that Shaw is in the 3rd to 5th best QB in the SEC range...but it is ALL of the pieces that will make our offense plenty good enough to win any game we're in this season. That's what's important. With an improved oLine and a stable of good running backs we're just as good as we'll need to be. If some receivers can show that they know how to run routes and get open this season (which didn't happen with ANY consistency last season) we'll be potentially great. Go Cocks/.

Wilson, Murray, Bray, Shaw, McCarron are probably the top 5 QBs in the league. Not sure how Mettenburger will do and Rodgers started to look pretty good...but definitely not his brother! (GO PACK GO)
The top 5 are for the most part interchangeable. As far as pro prospects - Wilson, Murray, and Bray have the best shot. JD |

Fair enough, those were Big 12 defenses. Also, I suppose we should wait to see if he heals fully from his injury

Fox Sports ranks the SEC quarterbacks as follows:
The ones that stick out to me are Tyler Bray, AJ McCarron, Zach Mettenberger, and Jordan Rodgers. Tyler Bray is a good quarterback, but ranking him ahead of Shaw? I just don't see it. I feel like AJ McCarron and Zach Mettenberger only got high marks because they are both on teams that competed in the national championship last year. Mettenberger is untested, so they are just assuming he will be that good. I'm not suggesting he won't be, but it just annoys me on principle. I don't know anything about James Franklin, but Rodgers is doing pretty well considering Vanderbilt's history. I think he should get higher marks for that accomplishment alone. Connor Shaw played in the range of "very good" to "awesome" in every game he started last year. He should be #3 at a minimum. It makes me wonder if Spurrier had started Shaw from game 1 last year, if he would be higher on the list.

With Shaw's athleticism and arm strength (which has improved from last year), I'd make him a solid #2. Possible #3 because there are pocket QB's with a little bit better range.
I look at it this way, if Aaron Murray was our QB and Connor was UGA's QB, whose team would be better and whose would be the same or worse? Hard to tell.

I say shaw could be #1 as far as being able to make plays and win games. The problem is he's not as much of a passer as Wilson or Murray which is mostly what these rankings are based upon.

Well AJ McCarron did pretty well last season but I think he'll be along the same lines as Greg McElroy (sp?) as far as performance eventually. Play maker ability easily goes to Shaw. Best all around is Tyler Wilson, he learns quick from his mistakes, and improves all aspects of his game. The poll itself is, who do we think will have the better season. I have to go with shaw. Arkansas will be down with the loss of players and their oh so beloved coach, they'll still be good but I believe we'll take them to the woodshed come game day. Murray still has things to learn about passing but when he's on, he is on. Top 3 are wilson murray and shaw, but all interchangeable, because I honestly have no clue where they all will go. P.S. did anyone see our projection on bleacher report? Those guys are all idiots. Projected 9-4, 4-4 in the SEC and a win against GTech in our bowl game. Who makes projections in June? lmao

But you are wrong. It seems people have forgotten because of how well he played in his last three games. But Shaw was pretty horrible for a few games. Tyler Bray might have the strongest arm in the SEC. He is a much much better passer than Shaw. Mettenberger beat out Murray at UGA before he was kicked off the team. He also has a cannon for an arm. He is supposed to be really good. |

Hard to beat someone out when 80% of your snaps was with the 3rd team. When Richt gave him 1st team snaps vs the 1st team defense he was god awful.

My list for better college QB would be a lot different from pro prospects
