CAROLINA BASEBALL

I just wanted to start a thread that didnt get lost in the game thread. I want to make sure that everyone understands just how special this program has been the last 3 seasons. Championships aside, win streaks aside, this team just gets it. They play the game the right way, they have fun, and they win.

They do what people say cant be done. I know we hear that about teams all the time in sports, but the last 3 seasons, we have pretty much been underdogs, and this team flipped the experts the bird and well, WON ANYWAY.

Hats off to Ray Tanner and the coaching staff, the players, the USC Athletic department, and even the fans. This has been one hell of a ride, and I cant wait to see if our boys can keep the magic alive! I hate the saying, but damnit SHOCK THE FREAKIN WORLD!

Ray Tanner could pinch a loaf in the 5 Points fountain and Jewelry Warehouse would be there to scoop it out, portion it out, and sell it for $49 a pebble.

This run has been incredible. Two NCs in a row followed by a third consecutive finals appearance is astounding. Tons of youth on this years team. Hopefully we can find a way to replace lost leadership and keep this thing rolling!

That said....let's 3-peat it first. This isn't the first time we've met an offensive team from the PAC-10 in the finals.

Honestly, it's going to take 10 years or more for us to really understand and appreciate what were watching. This is just unreal. I don't know how to describe it.

i've been a Gamecock fan all my 50 years(at least all i can remember) and this has to be some of the proudest moments ever for any Cock fan. thank you coaches, players, and EVERYONE in the GAMECOCK NATION for making this ol boy feel mighty damn good!!!

Thank you for this post. I was so disappointed in the game thread...the negative nellies were out in force. I thought that that we had changed the negative culture at USC. Well at least we've changed it with our players. Thanks Coach Tanner!

negative nellies come out once we hit the playoffs.. they jump on board when the team wins and hop off when they lose. Just stay the course, because this team deserves it.

I just got done... celebrating.

This is Ray's masterpiece. He took a bunch of younger guys, threw them into the mix and got the chemistry to gel at precisely the right time.

No matter what happens against Arizona, I can think of no finer managing job than what Tanner's done this year.
