Considering I'm from SC and I'm headed to Wofford this fall, which is a pretty easy drive to Charlotte, I'd like to see the Bobcats put a good product out. I'm a Heat fan, and with them in our division I obviously don't want them to be great, but I wish the franchise well.

That said. They are so friggin stupid. Why make that deal??? Gordon is terrible, and has a crappy contract. Maggete's deal would have come off the books at a time when Chris Paul and Howard were gonna be FA. Now I'm sure they had no shot with either, but they could've at least offered. Point is they was a good financial situation.



And speaking of Paul... if he were to leave LA, he is from NC and a Jordan brand guy... just saying

Isn't Gordon going to be down to the last 2 years of the deal? If that is the case you can keep him for a year and then deal his expiring contract to a team looking to clear space for another solid pick or player.

After this year he has a player option.

Well if he has taken care of himself financially he may decline that option just to get out of Charlotte freeing up even more cap space for 2013-14. And I don't think that they have but I could see them waiting another year or so to acquire a truly awful contract and use it then.

its a good deal for charlotte though obviously it doesnt make them noticeably better. i always looked at kemba as gordon without the long distance shooting, but still it gives them more firepower. charlotte, even with the added contract length cant pass up 1st round picks from lottery teams. im sure charlotte thought about who would be available and who they potentially could make a trade with who would want an expiring and they probably thought that draft pick was the best deal they could get.

Sources told ESPN.com the first-round pick going to Charlotte is lottery-protected in 2013, top-eight protected in 2014, top-one protected in 2015 and unprotected in 2016.

have you heard anything about the Lakers/Wizards rumor? Ron/Pau for #3/Ariza/Blatche

at first i didnt see the draft pick, who would the lakers have in mind? this would be interesting though i wouldnt want blatche anywhere near bynum. just a rumor and seriously doubt it doesnt become serious

He'd do good to get 2 mil on the open market. No way he turns down 12.

And CP3 wants to spread his brand, Charlotte not the place to do that

And Kwame Brown got a 7 million dollar contract, Gordon can get more than 2

The Celtics have apparently fallen in love with Mike Scott out of UVA. Apparently he went to several workouts where he was paired with Terrence Jones in 1v1 drills and dominated him. The weaknesses of each player really show through in their 1v1 drills. Apparently Terrence Jones looked better than he was at Kentucky because his whole team was NBA ready. So if he were to get beat he would have Davis right behind him so it would not look near as bad. They are saying the same about Kendall Marshall. Austin Rivers is apparently making him look bad in workouts. Which again, at UNC, if he got beat he had a teammate behind him in Zeller or Henson there to block a shot.

Anyway, the Celtics are so high on him they are going to use one of their two first round picks to select him...UNLESS someone falls to them there they have rated better such as Sullinger. Based on their projections and what they see happening, they will take Mike Scott in one of those two places.

I don't love it but I really want Pau and Ron gone. Wall will be happy getting a big man like Pau and Nene to play with. We could amensty Blatche. At 3 we could get Barnes/Beal/Robinson/MKG. We tried to do the same last year to get Derrick Williams

Going to be hard to make the money work on the Wizards end of the deal.

Atlanta very interested in Pau as well with Josh Smith going the other way. Atlanta trying to figure out if having so much money invested in the three contracts of Horford, Paul and Joe Johnson is worth it.

Rockets and Trail Blazers as well as the before mentioned Wizards and Cavs have thrown their name in for the #2 pick.
