Minimum salary is 42K, the average player gets 81K. I read these numbers for last year but am on my phone and can't find the link. Garcia looks like he signed a little better contract than the minimum since he got one more year guaranteed. So my guess is he is getting about 60-70K salary after this year, housing and probably has some potential endorsement income. Rookies, I think, get the minimum. He isn't getting rich but probably doesn't have to work a second job. This is just a guess but at the worst, he is getting 42K over the next 3 year and housing. Also there are bonuses for winning playoff games. But that is probably unlikely too. At best, he is getting 80-90k plus the other incentives.

If he becomes a starter as a QB and has a good career, he'll probably make 150K-200K per year, endorsements and some type of housing deal.

I was hoping that this story wouldn't make it down here because it is just another thing to ridicule Garcia about, but it really is unbelievable.

I like Captain Brahsome's explanation better. His twitter is hysterical! I am a regular follower. You should read his tweets on each of the NFL teams prior to the draft or the ones about Petrino.
