What I should've said was he isn't making his final decision until closer to signing day. He should be considered a soft commitment to OU.

Finally had some time to review tape and also my notes from a few games I attended. Just gonna give my opinion of the class.
Connor Mitch- very solid quarterback. Great touch on long ball and great vision. Not the strongest arm but quick release makes up for the fact he's not a gunslinger. Quarterback of the future. Matt Rolin- has mike written all over him. Nice frame to add weight but because of his great athleticism he could possibly be thrust into playing time his freshman year. Solid speed but great tackler who brings pop into every hit but has great technique and wraps up. Could be a four year starter. Larenz Bryant- doesn't have great size for a linebacker and has a smaller frame but has great speed and is a ball hawk. In my opinion he would be the perfect spur, but put on weight and could be a solid outside linebacker. Devin washington- to be honest I think he has more raw ability than devin Taylor but doesn't have the frame. If he grows a little more, he will be a devin clone.. Nuff said. Brandon Golson- think Eric Norwood with more athleticism. Huge upside and is a great pass rusher, I see him playing a huge role in our defense for a couple of years Gerald turner- I don't like this kid as much as I did at first. The more I watch the more I don't know if he is a good Pass rusher or just okay. He's a tweener but I think he will end up getting pushed down the depth chart Alfy Hill- very good an solid at every facet of being a DE. He will alleviate the loss of devin from day one and take the pressure off clowney. Very quick but has quiet strength. Dude is a steal Ali Groves- cover corner all over him. He's very underrated great hips and solid ball skills. Good speed but solid in run coverage. Absolute STEAL. Remember his name David johnson- I dont know how i feel about him. Hes a DE/DT tweener, but im not too positive how he fits, its weird, im not super excited about him, i think its wait and see on how he turns on. solid measurables but too awkward of a skillset DJ Park- absolute mauler on the oline. great strength and footwork. solid pass protector and opens great holes for the runningback. he could come in and contribute right away and will probably back up the left tackle or play rightWill keep updating as I go Bryce King- skillset is perfect to play center but i could see him playing guard. he's small enough to have leverage against the DT's he would face at center but big enough to play guard. Very versatile player who could come in and contribute Alan Knott- very solid pass protector but he's still very raw and hasn't grown into his body yet. I have full confidence that Elliot will bring the best out of the kid and he will be a solid contributor on the two deep although with the talent we are bringing in on the line i can't project him to start. J.P. Vonashek-same as Mr. Knott. Has solid upside but doesnt seem to have the talent as park or king, although with his frame he could end up being HUGE if he puts in the work. This is one to watch in the future after a redshirt year. Jasper Sasser- I would love to see him get a shot at receiver but i don't think it will happen. he actually is a very solid receiver but the thing that kills him is speed, its not really receiver speed. He could be very physical and he is built pretty well so i think DB will be a good position and he could also be a good returner. Pharoh Cooper- I see captain munnerlyn all over him. he plays like a bulldog and is built very well. I think he will come in and challenge at the corner two deep right away. Kight dallas- He looks just like a NFL linebacker, but his play doesn't live up to it. To be honest i think it is a longshot that he ever gets much playing time, he seems robotic to me sometimes and isn't very good in coverage. He is a one dimensional linebacker, Mohamed Camara- I think he fits the spur very well, his speed is what scares me, he doesnt seem too fast, maybe even slower than antonio was, and deffinitely not a ball hawk like allen, im not sure how good he will be, depends on how hard he works. Devante Covington-Very solid, needs to gain a lot of weight before he can contribute but he works hard every play and has a motor that never stops. I think he could be another type of Devin Taylor. Very solid get, underrated.

For some reason I doubt this makes an impact but I hope it starts to change his mind on where he wants to go.

Honestly, I'd give it a 95% chance he sticks with Bama, 2.5% UGA, 2% Auburn, and .5% somewhere else. He and Matthews have talked about playing together, but I don't see it happening.

Sounds about right sadly. I'm pulling for that .5% obviously but yeah not going to happen.

Like your analysis, seems balanced. It's funny, recruiting is a hard thing. You have guys like Lattimore that come around every 10 years or so, but for the most part you never know if a guy is going to have the work ethic, commitment, and leadership required to be great. Football is littered with guys that have great measurables, but lack the drive required to succeed.
I like the fact that we're recruiting a different KIND of player than in the past, it's certainly showed up over the last two seasons. I love our class right now, but we NEED to go get some offensive playmakers to push it over the top.

Should be interesting to see comments once these guys complete their Sr seasons. It's still hard to get used to looking and doing evals on guys when they are Jrs.
