Here's what eats me up the most about Paterno. He had a chance to come clean before he died, but he chose to continue lying in a state of denial. He lied on camera to the nation. He then decided to get treatment for cancer that I'm all but certain he knew he had all along. He wasn't strong enough to go through the treatment and he knew that it would kill him. He decided death over telling the truth. I wouldn't be surprised if his son (Jay) and his wife knew the truth all along.

Paterno took the easy way out in order to avoid humiliation, not for one second thinking of the ones that have been truly humiliated for years because of his, and others inactions.

After all has been said and done by the NCAA, I can only think about the players, who worked hard getting the wins that have been wiped away. The NCAA is now telling over a thousand student athletes their efforts were worth nothing. It's just sad that the innocent always pay a price.

Are you kidding me? Seriously? You have got to be joking. If a program has ever been built by one man, it would be Joe Paterno and PSU. Followed closely by Bobby Bowden and FSU.

We know what the PSU program is made of. PSU players, faculty, and students know it to. The PSU program is made of a football first school that will look the other way when something like child molestation is occurring. You have the grand opportunity to relish in the tarnished legacy of a man that once was considered a college football icon. You have the opportunity to play for no postseason, to watch sponsors withdraw their support, to watch former teammates transfer to other schools. Joe Paterno is Penn State. And it will take years before PSU comes out of this shadow.

It is absolutely amazing how PSU students will unanimously support Joe Paterno and the filth that happened during his watch, all in the name of supporting their football program. Support your football program, that's what you should do. But come on now, admit the man did something horribly wrong. Admit your program is tarnished and admit that you are going to have to fight tooth and nail to survive the NCAA sanctions. What a great opportunity that you possess. I can't wait to get an "opportunity" like that.

I'm just going to stop. I could write a Ph. D. paper on this. If there are two groups of people I hate the most, its child molesters and rapists.

I don't know if it's been mentioned and there are a billion posts to go through so if I missed it I apologize...

but has anyone else heard about how PSU getting hit this hard helping UK recruiting? I believe it was 107.5 I heard them mention that UK may go after Bobby Petrino after this year and the combination of the two things would make things at the least interesting.

I heard that too. Sometimes they just talk outta their ass.

They act like Penn State's recruiting is on the same level as Kentucky. Absolutely not.

Penn State's best players will go to the best schools (as seen from Silas Redd probably going to SoCal, Mark Richt said he's looking at a few etc etc ) and the rest will probably stay. And to think that the current recruits will back out and go to Kentucky? Hell no.

Sure this puts one program lower in terms of the recruiting pool because it will be tough to get Recruits to come with all the sanctions. But it's still Kentucky.

I did hear that Petrino rumor too (him coaching at UL is a connection and it is intriguing) but I also have heard that Arky may bring him back, or Tennessee may give him a look if Dooley doesn't work out.

The Big 10 schools said they wouldn't poach Penn State, now Pitt on the other hand may because PSU tried to take recruits (namely Voytik) from Pitt in the transition to Chryst.
