Just like Lattimore. His weak ass gets knocked out against FSU and then his pillow soft tail hurts his knee while he wasn't even running with the ball.

These guys are embarassing.

Don't disagree necessarily with the assesment that he's injury prone, but injury prone isn't the same thing as soft.

He has played a ton every year except for last year. where is everyone getting that he hasn't played in 2 years? Not following that one. And Akeem brings it when he plays. He's a badass so I wouldn't call him soft.

I feel like Corner is the position this year that is going to take the most guts for whichever starters are given that opportunity (likely Akeem and Vic). I have a lot of confidence in Vic's durability and performance, Akeem I know can play SEC ball and be a solid corner, but I just dont quite trust him yet. And again Im not calling out his character or anything like that, just basing everything on the past two years and how psyched Ive been to hear him perform well but he just gets hurt so much and disapears
I thought that you may have just made a mistake in your original post by using the work "irk" to describe how you felt about him being hurt, but apparently not. Good to see you've got the right perspective, as his having a serious foot injury and now a groin injury are best seen through the light of how those injuries make you feel, which apparently is very irritated. And, btw, you did call out his character when you asked if he was "soft" in that original post. The guy plays hard, and tried to play through a serious injury last year, but guess that isn't enough.

Wow cockytalk really needs a thesaurus. I'm gonna guess that the OP didn't use soft to imply that Akeem plays scared (empirical evidence would show otherwise), but that he is very susceptible to physical injury. Hopefully this groin thing is just a precaution to not push the issue and to make sure he is in the best possible shape when the vandy game rolls around

losing Rico McWilliams was a big loss because we need all the corners we can get and it sounded like he was one of the standout freshmen... there is no way you can count on Akeem being healthy the whole season and who knows with Vic's history of academics and getting in trouble. Hope none of our other dbs get hurt, I would love for Whammy to be able to avoid putting Jimmy Legree on the field

I asked a question about what the rest of you guys thought was the situation. It was a possible scenario that Im sure has crossed other peoples' mind, which doesnt mean that is the way I feel about Akeem. I said that I have been axious to see him play since he went down early last year and "irks" me becuase Im anxious to see him play again....probably the same way it "IRKS" him that he cant be on the field. Disect the OP however you want.

Thanks to the posters that shared their thoughts without overeacting and pointing fingers.

losing a freshman who may or may not have made the two deep is not a big loss

Legree isnt as bad as you make him out to be, hes a solid back-up CB

Opportunities now for Chaz Elder, Jimmy Legree, Cadarious Sanders, Chris Moody, TJ Gurley, and others to get more reps and experience which will pay dividends down the road. Hate it for Rico though. I expect Akeem to be back and ready.

I wonder what Martay Mattox is doing nowadays and where he ended up since he walked out too early from his opportunity here.

The groin strain doesn't bother me. I question his ability to stay healthy because the foot injury that he suffered appears to be a nagging issue that required surgery and the possibility of it being reinjured concerns me.

Legree played a little corner towards the end of last year, still tho all reports I've heard is he is much more comfortable at CB than Safety and has been practicing well I'll take that word over your random opinion that hes horrible

FWIW, in post practive interviews today, Swearinger seems to be confident of Legrees ability to play CB. And DJ HAS seen Legree play day in and day out. And I don't think he's the type to sugar coat poor performance.

Good, I def trust DJ's judgement. Ward also said that Akeem should be out no more than another day so that's good too
