This thread is ridiculous. I happen to know the running back on that team, who was a first team all-american. He is very proud of what he and the 69 team accomplished. Did the thread starter just jump on the bandwagon when the cocks started winning recently? Most of us have been Gamecock fans all of our lives and it is that pride, even when losing, that has contributed to the atheletic teams success. If legalez ever played on a football team, which I doubt he or she did, he or she would have more respect for a major conference Championship. There are a lot of teams out there that haven't even come close to winning one.

Since it is the only championship won by our football program it would be pretty bad to take it down.

I always use it in demonstrating to taters even we can win the ACC.

I say take it down probably for a much different reason than yours. Records achieved before allowing the black man to play should not be honored. Black athletes changed the way football and basketball are played.

Warren Muir has every reason to be proud of what he and his colleagues did while they were at USC. I don't care if Jerry Sandusky was the head coach of that team (okay maybe I wouldn't go that far), the banner should stay up.
