Assumption under SC to BCS scenario is yet another blowout win over the yet again mighty tigers. LSU beat us...Florida Beat us..they both will have better or equal records, and are bigger programs.

UGA will have as many loses as us or they will be SEC champs, and Bama is a likely lock for the BCS based on what we've seen so far.

The only one we trump is UGA.

It's happened recently. In 2010, the Sugar took Arky over LSU. There's a lot less travel money to be considered as well when LSU is in the mix.

I was just trying to state facts. As of right now neither SC or Clemson will be in the BCS. Most people do not understand the BCS process and right now there is no way that ND gets passed over with the #1 BCS pick. It is just the way the system works. Also, Clemson and SC are not playing a rematch in the Chick Fil a Bowl. You guys are bound for FL on New Years day. Which bowl is up in the air.

If its one game and they stay in the top 8 they have to go to a BCS bowl.

And in 2010 Arky beat LSU the last game of the season, so they got picked to go to the sugar bowl.

UGA has a slim chance to beat BAMA so they will go below UF when they lose.

Gator is a quality bowl, but a slap in the face to our team right now, IMO.

I think the thing that has not gotten through with all of the BCS talk, and yes I listed to sports radio for a good bit of the day is that the BCS Bowls can take whoever they want from a given conference if they are in the top 14 BCS standings. Thus the teams with the picks do not have to take the best team, but the one they think they will get the most profit out of. Last year there was a reason why the Sugar went with Michigan with the #1 pick and VT with the #4 over a few other teams that had more impressive resumes. So if UF, UGA, SC, and LSU drop another game they will still all be considered for the SEC #2 slot equally, if Alabama wins the conference. Also the Rose might be inclined to take a west coast team if Oregon goes to the NC. Really the one thing set in stone is that Louisville will play the ACC Champ in the Orange Bowl since they are going to be the weakest BCS pick available and the Orange Bowl selects last.

That looks good to me. However, I really do think the Cotton Bowl wants A&M so they can match them up with Texas (depends on UT on how they finish the season).

I've read your posts about bowls and think you are WAY off base with the Rose Bowl. You've thrown out a number of different scenarios. I live on the west coast and the Rose Bowl is very traditional. The WANT Pac 12/Big 10 match ups. Only when they've been forced to take a different team will they.

You're assumption is that there won't be a Pac 12 team for the Rose Bowl. There's still a lot of season left so don't count out Stanford or Oregon St for getting the at large.

I think this is the most likely scenario. The only way this changes is, of course, if someone loses.

How exactly do bowls pick teams? I know for example, the Cap 1 gets like the first or second pick after the BCS. Is it based on record,something else or both?
