No idea but here's my guess:

"Marcus had surgery and is recovering well. He is to undergo extensive rehabilitation and re-evaluation in the near future. We have the highest optimism of him returning to the field"

This is incredibly good news for Latti. This likely means that his ligament damage was less severe than anticipated and should allow for a faster recovery.
