Run out the clock or run up the score
Ok, humor me for a minute bc I'm bored. Just saw Bama choke at home and can't stomach watching the dawgs clinch the east against a pitiful auburn team. Question- is anyone else disappointed with Coach's tendency to put on the brakes when we have a comfortable lead? Or would you rather see the starters stay in the game late and put up points? I understand wanting to protect our starters from injury and also to give the back up players PT, but sometimes I wish we had the "hang 60 on 'em OBC". Especially against Arky. Not complaining, just wondering how others feel. Great win today regardless!

down to 2 rb's... the whole d-line is coming off of injuries minus DT, Shaw playing hurt all year..

I may be wrong but I don't think Spurrier has ever really left the starters in to RUTS.. He usually lets the reserves run the gameplan and throw it all over the field too.
Unless you are his Florida team that went for the record of most points scored against UGA in Athens ...

If the game is well in hand.
Rest the started to protect them from injuries and to give the young guys some real playing time. It's the only thing that makes sense.

I have no moral quandaries with running up the score, and god knows I'd have loved to see us keep unloading on Arkansas. But with the luck we've had with injuries, it's usually just better to lay off the gas.

At the end of the year no one will care if we beat Arkansas 38-20 or 52-13. We need all our guys 100% by the time Clemson comes around. Beat the Tigers and it won't matter how ugly we won games.

To me it's not about the starters, it's about the play calling.
We definitely let up, we could have scored 50 on them, even with the backups. Arky didn't let up on our ass last year, so I wish we would have hung half a hundred on them. Oh well, still an ass kicking.

I am usually against running up the score, but against Arkansas after the beatings they have given us recently, I would not have minded it.

I think it changes for the situation. If all that matters is the W, run out the clock. However, if you're worried about rankings mid season (and not undefeated), it might be better to run up the score.
