**USC vs. Milwaukee GAME Thread**

I'd love a 17 win season, .500 SEC record, with maybe an upset here or there, even close losses. Compared to last season, that would be an awesome 1st year for Coach Martin and build from there.

I don't know any of the new player's names yet and I don't know how good Wisc/Milw is, but despite only watching the last 4 minutes of overtime due to getting home late, I can tell that this team is WAAAAAYYYYYY better coached than in recent seasons. Just in that little bit of time watching, you could see them contesting just about every shot, crashing the boards and running an actual offense! I knew for sure b/c when Milw had a guard drive into the lane, we actually had defenders in the paint to contest his shot. It was amazing.

Thank God Horn's "let them have an easy layup each time down the court so we can have more offensive possessions" defensive philosophy is gone.

UWM won the horizon league in 2011 and was 4th last year with a 20-14 record. they are a solid team

The defense was average today, gave up a good many open shots and at times got pounded on the boards. Offense was off and on, the only thing that consistently worked was curling off screens and slashing to the basket.

If this game were played last year, we would have lost by at least 15. The way Old Mil were making 3's you would have thought it was Larry Bird shooting out there.

This wraps it up pretty well. Great win, we showed a lot of resilience...but there is still some work to do. Feeling good about us after that game though!

Leonard is eventually going to catch fire. He is just too good of a shooter not too. I don't know why he has struggled so much since he has been here but there is no way he has been such a miss by all recruiting services. He will get it together.

Oddly, the offense picked up a bit when Slawson went to the bench with what appeared to be some sort of injury. With the other bigs also out, we had to play pretty small, but since UWM's big guys were more outside players, they couldn't really take advantage of us inside. We are going to need those big guys to figure it out quick, especially Slawson since the other two bigs aren't going to be available for awhile.

I like that we hit our FT's....hopefully we can use our quickness inside to keep drawing those fouls. Three-point shooting was horrible, most of the 3's we missed were pretty open shots, if he knock down 1/2 of those wide open 3's we took in the first half, we win this game going away. After the last two years of horrible 3-point shooting, it is hard to be optimistic about it improving LOL. Probably a better option to try and draw fouls going inside.

Yes, I think it's time to start going to basketball games. Horn is gone, we hired a good coach, he is trying buy us nachos and hot dogs. Let's end this boycott. It's served it's purpose. It's time to put basketball back on the map at USC. I think if Tanner and Martin get together and recruit fans for the next weekend game. We could have a really great turnout.

DameDash just needs to lose the face protector and get more than 5 minutes of PT. He may not always make his shots, but I guarantee he won't be out there making turnovers or mental errors.
