I've been to several games up there, but never hung out at the bars around campus. I know The Esso Club is the most famous, but what are some other good ones? What place will have lots of TVs with other games on?

Esso is ok, not really my kinda place, but whatever. TD's is good, Tiger Town Tavern is good, 356 is good, Friar's USED to be good, but they remodeled and changed ownership and it's rather pathetic now, and there's a few other places downtown. Just drop in, grab a beer and check out the place and see what you like. TDs, Esso, and Friars will be your best bet for lots of TVs. Same with Wingin' It.

As far as parking close, take 123 through Clemson. Turn at the red light on College Avenue (btwn Starbucks and Walgreens). Idk how much, if any, parking is available down there, but thats as close as you're gonna get to the bars without having to walk all the way across campus. We always either get a parking pass or park at the Y, so I can't exactly help with that.

That's the General Public parking map

Farthest left is the Y, and honestly your best bet, the 3 lots farthest to the right are LONG f*cking walks (DON'T park there if at all possible. You'll be ready for a nap by the time you get to your seat). The 2 small lots at the bottom of the map really aren't that bad. Just follow Perimeter toward the stadium, cut through Williamson Rd, then across Shotgun Alley. Brings you out at West Endzone, then it's down a hill then back up to Gate 9. Across that little road for upper deck.

This will be my 10th USC/CU game in the valley and my record is a pretty good 5-4 all things considering. 2 years ago was a great atmosphere and the Clemson fans were fired up, I expect double that this year. I think we are a better team all around but it will be another tough enviroment for Carolina. Clemson wants blood more this year than I have ever seen it before and our guys know that, I hope that causes their guys to press a little bit early and meltdown late. Go Cocks!

I will be at the Ole Miss/LSU game on Saturday. However, it's a 3:30 game so won't be at night. However, it will be during the day and the weather is supposed to be nice. Could be a great environment. I look forward to the game!

PLUS you get a shuttle that drives you up beside Littlejohn and the baseball field. After you get off the shuttle, you're at Gate 9 (or 20 for the upper deckers) in 5-10 minutes. And you get a shuttle back to the parking lot after the game.

especially if you know the back way. you can take that back entrance out of the Y, go left. follow to the end, connect into Shiloh. Turn to the right before the road dead ends and follow that road over the RR crossing, and you can take the other way back to 85 and come out at either Exit 4 or Exit 2 (can't remember which, but I THINK it's 2).

Me, I live in Westminster, so I can leave from the Y and be back home in 15-20 minutes depending on how long the red light I come to in Seneca keeps me there.

as for the stadium.. I've only been there once, but I really don't like it at all.. and to be 100% honest, I wouldn't be crazy about it even if Carolina played there.. I just don't like the design of the uppers. I can't speak for the lower areas because I haven't sat there.. my uncle's had season tickets there for a while and he seems to like it, but I just don't like the design and seating arrangements at all..

anyways, as far as time being a factor.. Clemson fans are used to day games anyways, are they not? Couple that with it being a rivalry game and I think the crowd was going to be a factor regardless

The lower deck isn't bad. I've say in the upper deck once, it was my first game and I was just too excited to be at a college football to realize my nose was bleeding... But lower deck is nice, if you are up top wear something warm because there isn't much to block the wind coming off the lake.

Great advice WC. I have parked there several times and it has been awesome every time. Traffic leaving is a breeze.

This is what I see that could happen. Spurrier said when he first got to SC he took down the beat Clemson signs because our players got way too worked up for that game. His exact words were that by the time the game got here, our players were so afraid of losing that they didn't play to win and they couldn't perform.

I know all fans want their team to win this game, but there is a lot more pressure on Clemson to win than SC as far as coaches and players go.

Now for Clemson fans lurking, I agree that this is only a theory and it may not happen. But I could very well see Clemson being afraid to lose and it impacting their performance because of the pressure that is going to be on them to win.

I havent been up there since the 2004 debacle. If some one wants to float me some tickets, I would be glad to go this year.

IMO it's not a bad gameday experience. I've had several good tailgating experiences up there.
