Brewer was an average football player that had 2 great games. The reason why people like him so much is because he is white. Period. End of.

He's not even one of our top 40 running backs of all-time. (However he is one of our top 15 recievers in terms of yards.)

We have had dozens of players like Ryan Brewer on our teams over the years, and they are great guys to have. Hard working, tough nosed, etc.

But having Ryan Brewer as a starter on your team in the SEC means that your team is likely going to be average.

All of this is not an insult to Brewer. Rather an indictment of where our football program was for over 100 years.

And just to get back on topic...I'd take DJ over Ryan Brewer all day long.

Your first statement is pretty stupid and ignorant. The second is mute bc they dont play the same position. He wasnt just a rb or a wr... he did it all.... thus the reason he isnt a top 40 rb or top 10 wr. Brewer was the type of player we needed when we didnt have it bc all lou did was recruit thugs. He played with a chip on his shoulder bc of his stature also.
