Should be a great movie from a production standpoint. Will have the largest budget of anything in the genre to date, and the biggest star. My concern is with the script. I realize changes must be made when going from one medium to another (book to movie), but the story was told as a retrospective in the novel. This looks as if it is happening in real time. Also, Pitt's character never involved his family in his narrative. I believe I can be objective enough to suspend my disbelief, though.

The movie I have been waiting for.

The book is a modern classic and absolutely help launch our current collective obsession with the Zombie Apocalypse. I've read several...maybe a dozen or more...'Zombie' books since I read WWZ and none of them have been as good but all have been because I read that one first.

George Romero set the zombie standard. That being said, I do like to see alternate takes and the fast zombie swarm in the WWZ trailer would make me sh@! myself if I had to contend with that!

No, if they want to make it something else than call it something else. That book is awesome, this movie will be "of the suck". It's already undergone massive reshoots in an attempt to make it suck less, unfortunately it won't help.

Well, there is nothing like judging something as crap before even seeing it or giving it a chance.

I've also read the book. It was awesome. Just because they changed a lot doesn't mean this movie has zero chance of being good.

I dont know how much I expect out of this movie.

I read the book when it came out and enjoyed it but it lacks the movie potential. It was a bunch of narratives which was cool but they would have to seriously change things around.

Also, met the author, Max Brooks, last week. He was funny and alot of fun. He said that he has limited input in the movie and is not involved. Bummer.
