He got arrested right across the street from my house for smoking a blunt in front of an undercover that I believe led to his dismissal from the team, if played now for a team like Washington or Colorado he would be NFL bound.

I think he could have been the best back in school history...well, him or demetrius. They were both amazing. Derek had a little more homerun ability than most of our good backs. Looking at Demetrius and Derek highlights why we have all come to love Marcus so much. He had the kind of upbringing that has made him a high character guy to go with his talent.

Court records show that Watson pleaded guilty Aug. 11 to a pair of drug charges in Greenville County. He was given a 15-year suspended sentence and placed on three years’ probation.

Watson was arrested again on Aug. 27 in Greenville. He was charged with possession of less than 28 grams of marijuana and interfering with officers serving a warrant, both of which are misdemeanors, records show.

Anderson County sheriff’s spokesman Chad McBride said Watson was transferred from the Greenville County Detention Center to the county jail in Anderson early Monday.

That was back in 2011. Can't imagine getting arrested 2 weeks after getting probation & a 15yr suspended sentence is a good thing. I ain't no legal scholar, but it sounds like he's in jail. The mug shot makes him look 40/50ish. too bad

From a year ago. i work for scdc and from just a web search on the departments website, I don't see his name. But high profile people usually aren't. I will check at work tomorrow and See if he is indeed locked up.

He should move to Colorado. He was maybe the most physically gifted tailback I've seen in a Gamecock uniform. The year he got kicked out he continued to lead the SEC in all-purpose yards for like 5 games after he was gone.
