Looks like Colby Holmes has another Conway HS grad joining him.....

HaHa...I know a little about the situation with him visiting klempzun...

..Planned the whole time he would tell them he was going to visit and not go....But I think klempzun knew that also....

To be honest, I just posted/re-posted because of an Interview I heard on the local sports report...... and didn't even see the date on the article....

Recruiting a baseball player to South Carolina has to be one of the easiest jobs in College baseball.

"Heres some players, here is the best stadium in college baseball, here are our national championships, here is your LOI. See you next year."

Our biggest competition for these guys is a little organization known as MLB. :)

Ain't that the truth! Hate seeing Draft day when we have some of our top recruits going off the board in the first round and seeing South Carolina next to their name as their college of choice but of course the never make it to campus. We have atleast 2 or 3 guys each year go in the first or second round.

Yep.

Florida's class got DECIMATED last year by the draft. It makes recruiting in baseball a tricky thing. You want to go after the best, but you realize they might not ever see campus.

The MLB draft and late signing deadline is one reason why College Baseball recruiting classes are not ranked until after that school year starts and everyone is on campus.

Exactly. Which is why people shouldn't get all worked up if we have a lower than usual class one year. It could very well be because we lost key guys to our biggest competition.

Ah, this takes me back. I was a 4 year starter on the baseball team at Conway and played SS as well. We've had some good players come through Conway.

My teammate in high school is now the head coach at Conway. That blew my mind!
