Jimbo Fisher to Auburn?

Do any search on the web and the rumors are everywhere - especially on the Auburn site. 107.5 talked about it a little while ago.

If this happens, has to signal the end of the ACC. When the best coach and team in the conference goes 12-1 with VT struggling, Clemson the only competition, and Miami ready for NCAA sanctions, this is bad.

I think Fisher realizes he can never win big in the ACC and would rather try his luck in the SEC against Bama, LSU, and the rest of the SEC powers than stay in the ACC and win games and titles. Again, IF he leaves.

If this happens, put the final nail in the coffin. The ACC sucks in football and will never amount to anything in college football.

I think that's the point. Moving from the best team in the ACC (by far) to a middle of the road team in the SEC (currently) is a lateral move and speaks volumes about Fisher's belief in the ACC conference, titles, and opportunities in the long run.

Not gonna happen. Why would he leave a cake job where he has no competition and less than national championship expectations, for a job where a guy who won the national championship two years ago is now getting fired. I am not defending Cheezic, but this move would make no sense for Jimbo. It would also make no sense for Auburn to hire a guy who every year is ranked highly and disappoints in the lowly ACC. Just doesn't make sense.

He has just as much money now as he would in Auburn. He gets just as good recruits at FSU as he would at Auburn. The booster support is there. He can not only be a favorite to win the conference but can actually do it at Florida State. His hardest game of the year at Florida State is Florida not Alabama, LSU, Georgia which if he went to Auburn he would have to play every year. I just do not see the move but alot of time coaches go where no one else sees fit. Case and point Gus Malzhon or how every you spell that offensive genius's name. Nobody saw him leaving for Arky St. I mean look at all the oppertunities he had the year before he left.

Personally heard a different name, but Jimbo is an interesting move if serious. And I think with the coach in waiting thing, he thought he could bring FSU back to the 90s and that's just not possible in today's landscape.

Wouldn't be that surprising. Fisher was a QB Coach at Auburn for 5 years back in the day. His associate head coach RB coach Eddie Gran coached under Tommy Tuberville. Then there is Dameyune Craig. One of our top QBs. He's at FSU and is their QB Coach and head recruiter. If Fisher came, at least Craig would probably come as well.

Well, it wouldn't be if he could turn Auburn to a contender in the SEC again. But then again, if he is after Championships he has a better chance if he stays at FSU instead of having to beat tough competition. Money talks though, so I could see it happening. Auburn could and would probably spend more than FSU would be willing to keep him, if they wanted him that badly.

Better than Chizik but not a great coach imo. Would be bad news for Clemson as FSU might actually hire a great coach and start dominating again.
