As much as it pains me to say it -- no one backs into a east/west conference title in the SEC. GA took care of business and we couldn't get it done this year. Stuff happens.

I have to agree with this. We screwed it up in two very winnable games. We have nobody to blame but ourselves.

Yep, Clemson is probably BCS bound regardless.

Because outside of the SEC, college football sucks this year.

If Clemson loses to us, they will not get the at large BCS bid. They will get jumped by too many in the rankings.

I looked at the top 25.... the teams right outside the BCS top 14 are a bunch of Pac-12 schools (all that are probably going to lose another game or 2).... if you look down a little further... ya got La Tech and Nebraska.... but the Huskers are either gonna win the Big-10, or if they lose... they wont be a top 14 school...

Clemson is looking decent for that bid.... even if we beat them...

If you look at the top 14, (4) of those teams (all SEC teams) will not be eligible for BCS play.... So, by rule... the BCS will have to take the other 4 teams in the top 14... The only teams I see even with a chance at getting that last BCS bid is Michigan, La-Tech or Clemson...

How can you say that when we still have an unbeaten Big XII, Pac 12 and Notre Dame left? If anything, it's one of the better seasons of college football in recent years.

Just because the SEC no longer has an unbeaten doesn't mean you have to be homerish.

I'll take door #3 Alex: a Carolina win over the taters in "Death Valley, SC", and then they can go to their little BCS Bowl and get curb stomped, hopefully by Bama. What is gonna help Clemson is many of the teams under them are going to most likely lose again (Stanford, Oregon State, UCLA, USC).. Oregon is the key in this thing... If the Ducks lose to OSU, Stanford or the Pac-12 title game... then that pretty much gives the Pac-12 (2) BCS spots... since Oregon would not fall out of the top 14... thus taking that last open BCS spot (IMO Clemson)

There are (4) at-large BCS Spots..

(A) Notre Dame is a lock for one
(B) Oklahoma is a lock for one
(C) The SEC is a lock for one
(D) Clemson, Michigan, La-Tech on the inside track (If Oregon does not lose again)

I don't see Clemson getting the Sugar Bowl if we beat them. If Bama doesn't make the National Title game, they are a lock for the Sugar Bowl. There will be a lot more at large teams that are more likely to sell their allotment of tickets than Clemson. If Clemson loses to us, they end up in the CFA.

If we win out, and that will include a win on the road against a top 10 Clemson team, I see us jumping A&M, and UGA for sure in the standings. Mainly because I believe UGA is going to get smoked by Bama, and A&M doesn't play a team with a pulse the last two weeks. Also, if FSU beats Florida, and I believe they will, that could put us at #6 in the country. Brad Edwards made it quite clear yesterday that the Sugar Bowl would LOVE to have us. Don't count out New Orleans just yet. Next weekend will have a big time say in that game.

National Title: As of right now if everyone keeps winning out. Most likely Nat title game is

Oregon vs K state.

Orange: Louisville will go to Orange to face FSU(lock ins). I see FSU winning ACC title and guaranteed for that bowl like Louisville and the Big East

Sugar: BAMA is a lock for Sugar. ND will get this one also.

Fiesta: I think UF beats FSU. don't know why. so they get Fiesta. Oklahoma is a big name so they get the other spot. Now if UF loses it's possible for USC to take the spot.

I choose these teams because I don't think they would bowl two teams from the same conference unless it's a National title game.

6 of the top 10 BCS schools are from the SEC. That's not me being "homerish," those are facts. The PAC 12 is strong at the top, but other than that the remaining conferences only features one or two decent teams.

Big 10? Outside of an ineligible Ohio State, you have a conference that will probably be won by a weak Nebraska team.

Big East? Louisville was making some waves, and then got curb-stomped by Syracuse.

Big 12? Yes, K-State is strong, and Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Texas are decent, but not anything to write home about. I see a lot of people that are actually picking Texas to beat K-State in the Big 12 championship. Texas is NOT a BCS team this year, but K-State is supposed to be national champ material? Yeah, OK. Oh, and West Virginia is now on a milk carton.

ACC? No. No. No.

So other than Notre Dame, K-State, and Oregon...who you got? A Florida State team that lost to NC State? A Louisville team that couldn't get past Syracuse? Rutgers? A UCLA team that got trucked by Cal?

No, I'd take Alabama, Texas A&M, LSU, USC, UGA, and Florida (maybe not Florida) over all those teams, and yet, only two of us can go.

It ticks me off to no end that they have such a creampuff schedule two years in a row, but at the end of the day, it wasn't who they DIDN'Tdidn't play that was the difference, it was who they DID play - we lost to common opponents both years that they beat (last year it was Auburn, this year Florida) . . .
