Appears he is a def non-qualifier though

From Havlock, NC. Pharoah Cooper's teamate. 6'3" 230 and Lawing was the one that extended the offer according to Chris Clark. He has obvious work to do as he was talking about how he mayhave trouble even getting into Fork Union.

He started by saying he had been playing OT then moved to DL where he feels he can do whatever the coaches ask of him.

Correct. Its up to him to work on qualifying. Fork Union cant be very expensive as many of our players have gone this route.

DE Kendal Vickers (6-3 245) of Havelock, NC announced Wednesday night he plans to commit to USC Thursday for the 2013 class. Vickers revealed his decision on Twitter. "Committing to the University of South Carolina!" Vickers wrote. The Gamecocks offered Vickers earlier in the day Wednesday. He also has an offer from East Carolina, However, Vickers is not expected to enroll at USC until January 2014 as he's expected to enroll at Fork Union Prep, VA next fall. Vickers plays defensive end and linebacker but could grow into a defensive tackle. He has eight sacks this season. Vickers is a teammate of USC commitment Pharoah Cooper. Vickers will give USC 22 commitments for the 2013 class.

I personally love the prep kids. Prep means you have to have ths score right, just need to shore up the coursework.

does not count towards the 25 because he will not sign a LOI.

We are also no where near the 25 because Mitch, Rolin, Park, and Langley won't count against the 25 LOI rule.

Lawing saw him in camp this summer and really likes him. That is basically all anyone knows.

Well our guys obviously see a lot of potential in him, and are willing to take the chance on prep or juco. I personally love that we go after and build depth with these kind of guys, it really shows the character of our coaches. Welcome to GamecockNation Kendal. Good luck to you bud

Yeah, we might have to replace "sign and place" with "commitment and place" or "pledge and place", the agreement to come play for a school and for the school to allow you to come play for them will have to be totally verbal due to SEC's stupid rule. Oh well the LOI wasn't worth the paper it was written on for guys who were obvious non-qualifiers in any case, but it does result in some kids not understanding and ending up in other leagues, for sure. Good job florida and georgia.
