I just got a text from espn that the ncaa is extending Tenn probation period by two years for the violations that happened during the Kiffin year. Very strange for the ncaa to put on an extra penalty so late...

If they fire Dooley, this news will definitely hurt trying to find a candidate. Yet, looking at Al Golden's decision to join the 'Canes during their problem-years (non-arrest related), he may still be interested in the Vols' position.

It's probation.

Not a big penalty...but weird that this was reopened.

Could have been worse, but this just means we have to stay clean that much longer!

I wonder what the "new evidence" was and where they got it. Either way, I wish Lane and his entire entourage of sleeze would be barred from coaching. Association with Lane Kiffen should be an automatic ding to your credibility. I only hope he screws up Southern Cal many times more than UTenn in the process!!!

Because the additional impermissible recruiting activity had not yet been discovered and presented to the committee in the earlier case, the committee notes it did not have a complete picture regarding the violations that were occurring in the football program at that time. The university is not considered a repeat violator because the infractions occurred prior to the previous committee decision.

IMO any violations that happens under a coach who bolts, Should follow the coach to the new school.
