You guys were tied with Wofford after 3 quarters. Its college football, you can't predict it. As for position by position battles its really this simple: Clemson's offense is better, South Carolina's defense is better. Both really aren't even close.

Their offense. Our defense. We'll see what happens.

another thing not mentioned here that should be included is TE. Any of our 4 could start for a lot of teams. they by in large are our passing game.

It comes down to this...if we get pressure on Boyd with our front 4, we kick their ass... If we can't generate a pass rush, we are in for a shoot out.... I don't want to be in a shoot out with these guys.

IF we come out and play like we did in the uga game we win as easily as we did the past three years. If we come out like the uf game it will be a long night. If we play to our abilities we should win.

And you actually would consider your WR's better than Clemson's? Really? You're telling me that if you were to match up your #1 vs Clemson's #1, #2 vs Clemson's #2, etc that SC would end up with the advantage? You don't have one WR on your team that will play in the NFL in the next 2 years. Head coach I'd say Spurrier is better, but seeing as how every single CT poster is complaining about his horrible offensive playcalling this year, dunno how you can say it's not even close. He may be one of the worst OC's in the nation. |

So yeah, Miles has outperformed your "historically leading rusher" in the head-to-head during that period. |

And you played WF, Duke, MD, & NCST. Impressive; real gauntlet there. There are 4-teams outside of Clemtech and the Semiholes that got to 6 wins total on the season. The ACC is a dumpster fire. And a 2-point loss on the road in Baton Rouge ain't "losing badly".

Clemson has the adv at every position on O. Offense compared to Offense. Boyd is a much improved QB this year and his dropping a few lbs making him more mobile only helps. Ellington and Watkins were both injured coming into last years game allowing us to focus more on Hopkins. This year they look pretty healthy coming into the game. We have to have consistent D pressure but also have to play in position. Morris totally out coaced the NCST secondary by having his receivers set up with curls and come back routes, then follow that up with double moves a play or two later. NCST DBs were on roller scates and ours will be too if they are getting beat early. Pressure nullifies this and hopefully we bring our A game. Our DL is the only true advantage. Slight advantage our LBs vs theirs but neither are great. Our secondary is somewhat better than theirs but we're facing the much better O. Their DBs will look better due to our lack of creativity in play calling, shorter WRs and suspect QB/OL play. Again, we have to bring our A game and have some breaks to keep this game close. If Clemson breaks 30, we lose. Holding them to less than 30 will be a chore.

Don't know why some of my fellow Gamecocks feel the need to argue strength of schedule vs Clemson. We've been very fortunate to play some sorry teams and for the most part we haven't looked great doing it. To date, our best wins are UGA (at home and a total stomping) and Vandy on the road. UT, Kentucky, Arky, Mo, are all very bad teams. ECU, UAB and Woff shouldn't even enter the discussion. Both programs have taken advantage of of poor opponents, Clemson just looking much better offensively. Their best win is probably VT.

No, you didn't mention DT here, but you do in other threads and are always basically saying you want him to start over Shaw. I have watched Boyd and Shaw play. Shaw's been playing with a bum foot and/or shoulder for most of the season and plays against vastly superior defenses in a totally different type of offensive system. You are comparing apples to oranges. You have no common ground to compare them on, yet you are making definitive statements about one being better than the other. It's just illogical.
