If ND loses to So. Cal next week, could we have two SEC teams in the title game again? The winner of the SECCG will most definitely be going, and ESPN is projecting Florida as being next in line in the BCS. Could it happen?

i dont believe notre dame would fall far enough, theyd have to get annhilated and even then i almost think the voters would try and put someone else in ahead of them.

Voters will never have 2 SEC teams as #1 and 2 again. Worst ratings in BCS NCG history cost everyone too much money.

Shouldn't be... Undefeated ND, 1 Loss SEC Champ, 1 Loss Big 12 Champ, 1 Loss Pac 12 Champ, then the next 1 Loss SEC. At least thats the way things would work in a world that makes sense where winning your conference championship should matter for something.

Not when that conference is horrible.... By the way, the scenario presented doesn't have a 1 loss ND or Pac12 Champ. So take both of those out of the equation. Then the question becomes can a 1 loss SEC (non-champ) team jump over a 1 loss Big12 Champ? As we saw just last year, the answer is yes.

K-State is done since they don't have a championship game to redeem themselves. This is why you have 12 teams and have a championship game it offsets a quality loss in the regular season.

KState is also done because they don't have a quality loss. Losing to an unranked, sub .500 team in that fashion should never happen for a legit #1.

I still maintain that last year should not have occurred and as such was bogus in most every way. You should be required to win your conference before you win the NC. That brings a problem when considering a one loss ND, I would put them in the group of 1 loss non-conference winners and behind a one loss non SEC champ team. As of now, in order of most deserving IMO 1. Undefeated Notre Dame 2. 1 Loss SEC Champ (Alabama / Georgia) 3. 1 Loss Big 12 Champ (KSU) 4. 1 Loss Pac 12 Champ (Oregon) 5. 1 Loss ACC Champ (FSU) 6. 1 Loss Big East Champ (Rutgers / Louisville) 7. 1 Loss SEC Non-Champ (Alabama / Florida) *Big 10 excluded as eligible leader is a 2 loss team. If you want the benefit of the doubt by being in the SEC and automatically going to the top of the heap in the undefeated / one loss / two loss groups then you can deal with the consequences of killing your own chances.

So losing to mediocre Baylor is okay? If you lose to a top 10 team that is one thing but getting beat like a drum to non bowl eligble team is not.

Not going after last years ratings and the fact that none of the current SEC teams in contention have the same hype that Alabama did last year. And Oregon would go in before KSU. Oregon lost to a top fifteen team in OT, KSU got blown out by an unranked team.

Last year's ratings weren't poor because it was two SEC teams, they were poor because the matchup had already happened during the regular season AND many thought that game was boring. Alabama/Florida would be a different story than last year's game, although Florida definitely needs to change some minds against FSU after its horrible last few weeks.

KSU has wins @ #6 Oklahoma, @ #13 WVU, vs #14 Texas Tech, vs #24 Ok State, and potentially @ #15 Texas. Oregon has wins vs #22 Arizona, vs #23 Washington, @ #17 USC, and potentially @ #16 Or State and in the Pac 12 Championship game against a UCLA that if they lose to Stanford would probably be in the low 20's/high teens. They both beat a non-BCS cupcake and a D1AA team, KSU beat a BCS non-conference opponent in Miami and Oregon didn't play one playing Fresno out of conference instead. Oregon had two conference cupcakes in WSU and Colorado, KSU had Kansas. With all that said, I think KSU has better wins than Oregon in a tougher conference.

at the time rankings, currently oregon's best win(s) is over a 7-4 unranked team. you are right that if they beat current two loss oregon state and ucla those would give them the quality wins to make their case if notre dame loses.

Assuming GA loses to Alabama, that takes them out, then as long as Fla beats FSU, I think that gets you an all SEC national championship. Fla should be ahead of both Oregon and K-State after yesterday, but I guess we'll find out at 8:00 tonight.

Oregon is currently 4th in both human polls (Harris and coaches)

Fla is 5th in one and 6th in the other......it will be interesting to see where they are in the BCS poll tonight. Even if Southern Cal beats ND, I'm not sure a Fla win over FSU is enough to push them ahead of Oregon because of strength of schedule because Oregon plays Oregon State that is ranked 15th. In last week's BCS poll, the computers had Fla at 3 and Oregon at 4. Since Oregon played Stanford and Fla playing a nobody yesterday, the computers could have them almost even this week.
