regardless, I seriously doubt that even if something happened, they wouldn't take a shot because it's incredibly dangerous due to variables and potential collateral damage.. if anything they probably serve to spot..

Hell no there aren't any snipers at an NCAA event. Unless the president is there.

^although i have never seen them in person(which means they are doing their job correctly) we definitely do have "snipers"
at games. They may not be snipers like you see in movies to pick off a person in the crowd but we learned about them in sports classes at USC. They are usually at the very top of the stadium but have never had to take any action. Just going by what we were taught in class. Like I said I've never seen one.

Ok. Bigfoot is there too because I haven't seen him. What in the world would a sniper shoot at? A drunk student streaking the field? If something were to happen, there would be 80k+ people in a panic.

Believe what you want but i guarantee you there are people up there. feel free to email usc and ask. My professor is on the board of directors for usc athletics so i tend to believe her.(like i said they may not be snipers sitting up there with a scope ready to pick someone off, however there are armed men that are at the stadium usually up top that are there in case of emergency)

might want to quote my entire post instead of picking and choosing words...regardless of what you believe and think is funny, i know what reality is. Do you honestly think that they have no forms of security besides the cops that run the entrance gates at a stadium full of 80,000+ people?

yes, i agree. they are probably police officers or an active military member. guess i shouldn't have used the word sniper like someone previously stated. however, they are not the same as the cops that are there to pat you down coming in the gates.

I just quoted the stupid parts, you're right I should have quoted it all. Again, what would they shoot? I'm sure there is hidden security, but putting snipers above the stadium for every day football games seems too far out there for me. If the president is at the Super Bowl, sure. I personally know the member of SLED that in charge of coordinating all of the law enforcement assets for home games at Williams Brice so I called him and asked him about this just a little while ago and he laughed at me over the phone. He said that there are absolutely no snipers on top of Williams Brice during any game. He said they do have swat teams that do include snipers ready to go during home games but they are in normally in a truck or in a building very close by. He did say however that when Obama campaigned with Oprah at WB there were snipers on top of WB but they were not from local law enforcement. He ended with telling me of all of these people he has heard over the years saying that they have seen snipers on top of WB or they know that they are there and he just has to shake his head and laugh.

Strange. I just checked with my guy that works for SLED, and he said that snipers stand on top of the press box for every home game. He knows this as he has done that job before. HOWEVER, he has not personally done this job since 2009.
