I know it may be unlikely, and I know it may not even be best for the program if we are playing poorly, but I think I'm correct when I say the following:

We need 3 things to happen for an at-large BCS bowl bid.

1) Florida must lose to Fl State.
2) LSU must lose to Arkansas.
3) We must beat Clemson.

I assume that the win over Clemson allows us to jump Texas A&M.

Who agrees with this assessment?

Sorry to be blunt, but damn... We are 6th in a conference where only 2 teams get to play in a BCS game....

It's gonna be most likely Outback, CFA or Gator Bowl.... Any other bowl(Like Cap-1 or Cotton) for us would take a damn miracle with other teams losing, and/or 1 helluva sales pitch by Tanner to the bowl reps.

2. fsu must beat florida.
3. arkansas must beat lsu.
4. georgia must lose one of the next 2(both would be great).
OR
1. notre dame lose to southern cal.
2. florida beats fsu.
3. arkansas beats lsu.
4. We beat clempson.
5. bama beats georgia and plays florida in bcs championship.(georgia losing to gt would be good in this scenario as well).
6. and texas beats k-state.
Then, just maybe, lol.

People being sixth from our conference doesn't mean anything right now. That will all change if we beat Clemson and some other dominos fall in front of us. Just see how it folds out. BCS ranking has no bearing on at large BCS selections.

Yes we can. That's the only way 3 teams from a conference can go. The rule is 2 from a conference unless 2 from the same conference play in the bcs title game. Unless its changed this season.

If Florida gets the at-large BCS bid, then our chances go up to get the Outback.... If Florida is there when the Outback picks, they will take them over us....

If Clemson does not get a BCS bid, they are locked into the CFA, which means if the Outback does not take us, we are headed to Jacksonville....

The rule is you can only have 3 teams if 2 non-champions from the same conference are selected for the national championship game. The 3rd team could then take their BCS tie-in bowl.

Key word is non-champion. If Alabama makes it in, they will be the champion...which is why you are incorrect.

I think the first 4 are very plausible. The most unlikely is Ark over LSU, but I think it's @ Ark, so you never know.

As long as we're going just for kicks... How much input does the conference have? Just curious because I know everyone will want A&M vs Texas in the Cotton Bowl. Say that happens, and UF loses to Fla St and Bama crushes UGA then and only then do I see us getting a shot at the Sugar. Sugar would know USC would sell a ton of tix and would want us. Don't expect it to happen but just for kicks right?
