Odd camera part looked like a Rifle scope

If you look back at the gigapan photo from the TN game you can clearly see 2 uniformed soldiers on top of the press box with binoculars, but no weapon. There well may be trained snipers from the military or police scanning the crowd, but there is no way they keep a mounted rifle up there for the games.

Don't know if that was a rifle scope or not, but I promise you that there are law enforcement with rifles at a any event where you have 80,000+ people. It would be negligent if they did not.

I think I owe you an apology rosstheboss. Had a conversation with a SLED agent yesterday who is a friend of a coworker and he told me that there are definitely snipers at both WB and dv. He wouldn't go into much detail on what they expect to shoot but they are there as a precaution, better to have them and not need them vs need them and not have them. I got a little carried away with joking and sarcasm in the original thread at your expense - my apologies as you are correct according to this guy. He didn't think that the camear shot was of a sniper rifle or scope as they'd be placed in areas that the TV cameras and general public wouldn't see. Interesting stuff when you think of it.

So what are they going to shoot at-potential terrorists (whatever they look like) or a fan that gets violent? I'm sorry but if someone died from a sniper attack at a football game there's going to be a heckuva lot of explaining to do.

The fact that some of you actually believe there are military and/or law enforcement snipers stationed at games is either so sad it's hilarious or so hilarious it's sad. I can't decide.
