No, those ACC schools, except for NC State, FSU and VT are too snooty for the SEC. Clemson likes to think they have good academics , but the rest of the ACC doesn't think so. They really look down on SEC academics and prefer the Big whatever. There are some who want the SEC, but they are drowned out.

Many think their school president would turn down the SEC, based on academics, nevermind that the SEC schools have high percentages of historically disadvantaged residents of their state, while the ACC dreams of being the IVY League of the South.

Agree, but apparently the AAU thing (research affiliation of the universities) was a selling point. Maryland would have been a neat fit. they used to care about football....and crabcakes.

Thought they already got passed over during the summer. I think Jimbo is going to bail to the SEC if he can because he feels like the administration didn't take his requests to explore the big 12 seriously in the offseason. FSU did vote against the $50MM buyout though. Can't see the Big 10 going after Clemson. Lessee NY and DC markets ok...Florida and Ga Tech make the most sense after that.

Since they didn't go after them it seems to me they are still set on vt and the dc market that way.
