Strong was a good recruiter here and inspired great loyalty and effort from his players. It's too early, in my opinion, to know how he would be in maintaining a program over time. The recruiting success so far this year at L'ville is a little surprising, but a lot of players are attracted to a program on the move. He's done well so far with the situation he inherited.

Whoever it is, must have the recruiting magnetism and national recognition that SOS has, otherwise, we're going back to where we were. We need to go after the next "Frank Martin" type hire, at least. I hope we go after a really big name, like Chip Kelly. Somebody like that just might want to caoch in the SEC. One thing about the SEC, win the conference in any given year and you've got a 50-50 shot of playing in the NC. Oregon has one loss and is probably out. Alabama has one loss and is in.
Think about it.

Things are quite different now compared to when we hired SOS. This is a rather desirable job now. I personally want another big name..

When The HBC was hired,I really believe he was thinking as long as he was healthy and still enjoyed coaching to go along with having a chance to win,he wanted to coach between 10 and 12 more years...

...Also when it is time to hire another HC it will be handle pretty much the same way as when HBC was hired but it will be a bigger deal because we are a much better program than we were back then...
