This is a close friend of mines son. She wants him at USC and we have a great shot. ND and UT are showing early interest. Shaq is 6'7" 260lb DE from Pendleton HS. He is a class of 2014 Prospect. I found this video of him on YouTube. I don't know the young man, but the first thing on the video says he is 6'4". I've known some kids who have gone through some major growth spurts before, but not 3" the same year after graduating high school. Anyway, if he can play, 3" doesn't make a difference. Good luck to him.

If you are in any way a booster of USC please do not send them anything. It would be a NCAA violation.

It is not a violation to provide leads on possible recruits to staff.

As long he doesn't personally try to recruit them while using his relationship to provide extra benefits, he is in the clear.

He can foward YouTube videos, send newspaper clips, and whatever else to staff that he thinks may interest them.

The Georgia Military roster lists him as 6'4" and 255 lbs.

Also, he would technically have been a 2012 prospect. USCBASEBALL1, do you know of the specific reason he went to GMC in the first place and whether anyone was recruiting him before?

I have known this Family forever. Coached his Sister. And he is at least 6'6" now.

He had to get his books in order. Kid has a huge upside. His Mom and Dad were both top notch athletes at Daniel along with his Uncle who played some Arena Ball. He is someone to keep an eye on.

Thanks for the vid Don. That is Daniel HS he is playing against in the first part of the video. As you can see he is getting a major push.

Actually it is. USC posts on their FB once a week compliance questions and this was one of them and it is a secondary violation.

Actually it's not. I have known Shaq and his Family for years. There are different guidelines for that. I am not in Violation. Furthermore I am not a Gamecock Member.

Either they are wrong/mistaken or you read it wrong. I am just telling you the facts.

Anyone can give leads on a potential recruit to a member of the coaching staff; they just can't do any "recruiting" themselves.

The rule is different if someone had a personal relationship with the kid or his family prior to the time he started playing.

For example, if Sidney Rice knew Shaq Davidson in Gaffney before Shaq started playing, then Sidney can talk to him and help recruit him....at least that's the way it was explained to me by someone I trust inside the sport.

They say you have to have a ten year relationship with the potential recruit to be completely safe
