**USC vs. Elon GAME Thread** - Page 8

Just got back from the game. We need help inside (Carrera/Suspended guy), and our play from the point was lacking tonight. Turnovers all over the place, and missed shots with a bunch of open looks. 3-point shooting was terrible. Tough loss, but hopefully we can learn from this. I hope Ellington is going to rejoin the team shortly after this weekend.

The post game presser was kind of depressing. There was sort of a hint of Horn's legacy still keeping the kids....lazy? incompetent? I don't know, but as Frank said like 10 times: I don't like it.

The team will get there if they rebound and have more self discipline. You can not just have one team member play well per game. The team has to get in shape. It isn't that they do not have talent, but they are NOT doing their best. That is shameful. I am not saying the team has to win every game, BUT they have to play as a team! Only having 8 players is a killshot..i know we started rough but 8 players isnt a good way to play a real basketball game.

Michael Carrera should be ready to play the next game and then the game after Chatkevicious will be able to play.

Well the loss was gonna come eventually. I know it sucks losing to Elon but it's done and we just got to move on and please get our players back. That will help. We will improve unlike the last few seasons.

And this should be a big help, along with Bruce when he's able to return. Sounds like perimeter defense killed us last night, that could improve bigtime with the addition of the three mentioned players returning to the team.

Does anyone remember losing a basketball player to a concussion? I've been following USC basketball a long time, and I can't recall that ever happening.

Elon is a good team, but losing to them at home is embarrassing. Our guards are going to have to play better than they did against Elon for us to have a chance to beat most of the teams on the schedule. Kind of interesting that all of our guards shot it poorly on the same night. I could understand if one of them had an off night, but all of them? But, poor shooting by the guards isn't the only reason we lost. Turnovers, shot selection, poor defense, etc. were reasons too.
