Default Competition Committee to consider abolishing blocks below waist

http://www.theredzone.org/BlogDescri...t/Default.aspx

Quote:
Peter King of SI.com reports the NFL's Competition Committee will consider abolition of all blocks below the waist in 2013.

King doubts it will pass as head coaches/offensive coaches will go nuts over it. But I see two specific low blocks to be endangered now.
Can they destroy the sport any more. I don't even think they even do 3 point stances on the OL anymore.

NFL safety rules usually make their way to the college ranks very quickly

If they enforce it at the College level, it will kill the flexbone triple option offense.

NFL offenses won't ever run an option-based offense. As a former D-lineman I HATE cut blocks, but it's part of the game and if you need to get a DL's hands down on a quick pass over the middle, you've got to cut him.

The Panthers have been running a modified triple option with Chud's love of being cute.
