Taj Boyd is 0-2 against our SECOND string QB's both years he has started. That has to sting for Tiger fans. Both years he has come in as the stat heavy passer. Both years he has gone head to head with our #2 QB (and #3-4 RB's). And both years his game stats are inferior to our back ups. Eat it.

Did anyone catch him doing the Heisman pose on the sidelines after one of his TDs? Someone needs to make a gif of that and add some sort of caption.

I didn't see that but after the TD he took his helmet off and was high fiving fans. He was acting like he already won the game, little did he know that Clowney and the boys were about to mess his world up the rest of the night.

That in itself is kind of dumb IMO. Idk if I've seen our guys doing that. Nothing wrong with getting the fans pumped, but it seems like the taters (especially Boyd) like to run over there to take a victory lap. I've never seen a player grinning that much and acting that cocky so early in a game. I guess they really did think they were going to run away with it.

Well, yes and no. He was promoted from second string to first string only when our first string QB (Garcia) was excused from the team. So, the point remains true: Connor was our #2 QB forced into a starting position. Both he last year and Dylan this year outperformed Boyd statistically, though their offense is "explosive" and ours is "mediocre".

I saw it. You know why he didn't do it anymore after that? He was too busy doing the "Please get this monster off my back" pose.

Tajh Boyd faced a #2 / backup quarterback in Dylan Thompson last night. He faced a #1 / starting quarterback last year in Connor Shaw.

You guys are having a semantic debate, because the fact of the matter is that Shaw was the starting QB last year vs Clemson, and Thompson was the starting QB this year. So regardless of the situation, Clemson lost to South Carolina's starting QB.

In THAT sense our #2's (and even #3's) have outperformed Clemson's #1's (at least at QB, statistically and in victories). |

Agreed. Dylan was the starter against Clemson last night. Connor was the starter against Clemson last year. Both started because of injury/departure to the First String QB's. And both, as second string QB's forced into starting and playing head to head with Taj Boyd, out performed him and the Clemson Offense. That's my point, semantic debate removed.

The error is that Boyd did not face Thompson or Shaw.
Boyd faced the South Carolina defense. Thompson and Shaw faced the Clemson defense. Unfortunately, Boyd did not face the same defenses as Shaw or Thompson did this year for a better comparison.

Taj is a good qb, our defense just wouldn't help him any.

How did your defense only allow him to complete 11 passes?
How did your defense not allow him to throw over 200 yards? How did your defense sack him so many times? How did your defense cause him to throw twice as many interceptions as touchdowns?
