His record was 40-35 overall and 22-26 in the ACC. Wonder why it took them so long to get rid of him. The NC State people want in the SEC in a bad way. They got themselves an SEC basketball coach and you see what happens.

CC, if Morris were to end up in Raleigh, I think Dabo's days would be numbered, because Morris's offense is really the only thing that has kept Clemson competitive in the ACC. And I don't mean that as any sort of smack. Honestly, I could see Morris being a fit for the 'pack.

Yep. But only if Morris serves as OC as well. Can you imagine Dabo and his efense facing Morris's offense every year without having the benefit of the same offense with which to counter? Imagine the Clemson/ NC State game from this year, but without Morris calling plays for the tigers.

Dabo probably won't last a year after Morris is gone. If he thinks an ACC championship will keep him alive, he need look no further than Auburn to see that even a national title won't keep you on board if you go in the toilet in today's competitive football market.

Kind of sad, really. I personally enjoy having him as a foe and a guaranteed win. If Morris stays, he might last for a while. Ticket sales are still very good. Money trumps all.

^ This. With a weaker offense, Clemson would have a bad year next year. And Dabo would be gone.

You could be right. Interesting to see if anyone has been taking notes (Jeff Scott) while Morris has been in Clemson or who Clemson would hire.

I have seen that said before....Franklin was done a great job at Vandy.....I just don't see NCST being a better location.

I think the only reason this didn't happen sooner is because, until this year they would underperform most of the year, but beat the tar holes to close out the season, and everything was forgotten. Now that they lost to the holes, for the first time in like five years, something had to change.
I also think Debbie Yow saw that with Fedora, the holes are going to be on upswing, and State couldn't make progress with TOB.

Until a few years ago, UNC played Duke the last game of the season since that is their rival game not NCST.

conference schedules dictated... but im kinda glad... he was not ever going to get NCSU over the hump, more recruiting, no excitiment in the program or the fan base, no progress, and i think yow made the right call ..it shows that at least they are not settling for being average
