you can get 4 tickets, a parking pass, 4 tailgate passes, 4 hotdogs, 4 softdrinks, and a gameday program for $250. not a bad deal at all. I might have to jump on that.

We've had some bad games there (46, 80, 84, 87). It would be nice to go there and get a win.

I live here and I am a season ticket holder for the Jaguars. This stadium was remodeled two times since '95. It is the original Gator Bowl, but you would never recognize it. It is a much better stadium than the dump the Citrus Bowl is. If you have club seats for the game, the lounge is spectacular for food and drinks. http://www.jaguars.com/tickets/touchdown-club.html see photos. http://www.seats3d.com/nfl/jacksonvi...ars/#/level_7/ Three D Seat Views. If we are awarded the game, I would recommend staying at Jacksonville Beach, or near St. Johns Town Center. The Gamecock Club meets out there. You can stay downtown and walk to the stadium, but our downtown does not have a lot of residential. They will do a lot of events for the game at the Jacksonville Landing which is downtown and there are some decent bars there. San Marco, which is ajacent to downtown has some great restaurants. It is layed out like five points, but much nicer. There is a ton of room for tailgating at the stadium. There are several lots that were designed just for tailgate parking. I have traveled to many away NFL games, and I have not seen a better game day experience, but I am a homer, so take it for what it is worth.

That is not a great list of local courses, there are some but not all. Here are some I would recommend:
TPC at Sawgrass (bring your big wallet) Eagle Landing not on list Eagle Harbor Golf Club at Fleming Island All Ponte Vedra Courses All Amelia Island Courses South Hampton World Golf Village (World Golf Hall of Fame is there)

Alltel Stadium (Gator Bowl) was renovated not all that long ago.... It is actually a nice stadium...
Hell, I have been to Shreveport (High School Dump) and Birmingham (Smack dab in the middle of a Ghetto).... Gator Bowl sounds pretty damn good to me.. Why I would rather go to Jacksonville than Tampa... 2 main reasons... (A) If I choose, I can leave here around 6:00am... get there by 10:30 or so... tailgate for 2-1/2 hours... go to the game... get back on the road... and home by no later than 9-10:00pm... (B) We have been to the Outback 3 times in the last 10 years... Id like to do something different...

I'd be very happy with a Gator Bowl. Easy trip and its against a Big 10 school. There is no real difference in the Outback & Gator Bowl, except one is 4 hours further than the other |

Have been to the Cocktail Party in JAX & the setup is great for fun.
As mentioned, The Landing would be great for your "1 stop party spot" for New Years Eve Party. Plenty of tailgating area near the stadium for gameday. Of course the temp in Tampa COULD be better than in JAX, so that's a wild card. I was hoping my Wolverines would get an opportunity to play you guys, but we're pegged into the Cap 1 Bowl....possibly against Johnny Football. Great.......I can't even imagine our D having to chase that little SOB around for 4 quarters. |

I believe the Gator has a bigger payout to the school than CF and is the same payout as the Outback.

The stadium has the Bud Zone in the endzone, basically a bar where you can stand and watch the game. You can also take a boat to the game from the landing, or from the south bank. The landing, San Marco and Avondale are all nearby to downtown and have neat shops and bars to go to. Around the landing and the south bank, you can take a water taxi back and forth. places to eat go anywhere from Hooters to Ruth Chris steak house to River City brewing around the landing and south bank.
The stadium was demolished and rebuilt. It is not a dump. My suggestion would be to go the the tailgaters lot ( http://tailgatersparking.com/ ). Easy walk, nice grass lots, and an open air bar. I, and other residents of Jax can post some ideas for folks if we get this bowl, but there is a lot to do within range. St. Augustine, Fernandina, golf, tennis, the river, the beaches, etc. Might not be beach weather, but it's still a pretty cool place. Oh, they have railroad cars at the stadium too. Not in a line, though. They liked our idea. http://www.adamsstreetstation.com/index.php

My only concern about Jax is the weather. I like warm. Other than that Jax is a nice city (I go to Mayo clinic there for med stuff) and the stadium is nice as well. It is only a 2 hour drive on down to Orlando so you can add on a trip to Disney and such to your trip. As far as opponents go I prefer facing a passing team. We gotta let Clowney eat!

Yeah, Yancey, it can get cool here. Usually, however, jan 1 is a nice sunny day, dry and clear. hope I didn't just jinx it. The East sideof the stadium will be in the sun...just sayin.
