I have been sore the past 2 days because that hit was so hard

that hit reminded me of a play that "set the tone" when we beat Bama, remember Gilmore ripping Jones helmet off....lmao....gotta play D with some attitude and everybody feeds off it! I loved it! Go DJ Swag!!

One play can define and change a game. This play definitely sent a message to their offense.

Maybe the greatest hit, considering the game and circumstances, in our history. Unbelievable intensity. And it was in their house.

Early in the game one of our db's flipped a leaping receiver.....anybody remember who it was or have a pic?

I think it was Akeem (or Brison, can't recall) but the receiver was Hopkins.

Anybody who thinks the hit and the staredown was CLASSLESS by DJ SWEARINGER has obviously never played football. This is a game of emotion. That hit was legal and the intimidation that followed is a part of the game. Whats the difference between DJ intimidation and Clowney sacking Tajh then fist pumping standing over him? There is no difference, there should have never been a penalty. I wish we had several with the attitude of Swearinger. He is a beast!

He is made for the NFL. As soon as I saw the hit and the pose my thought was he's going to be the Ravens or Steelers first round pick.

Sometimes a 15 yard penalty is well worth it

Yea, probably so. I have never cared for stupid penalties...but I had zero problem with DJ throwing the ball into the stands or flexing over ellington..better yet I loved both of those plays and think they were game/momentum changing plays. They also solidified DJ as one of my all time favorite Gamecocks. Both were EPIC.

I've looked the play over and over and to my surprise, DJ lead with his shoulder and not his helmet. His helmet made glancing contact and the fact of the matter is that his body flew into the play at the speed of sound. That's what made this such a badass play. It WAS NOT targeting.

The call should have been overturned. DJ is innocent.

The taunting? I normally hate that kind of behavior, but when you do it to a hot-shot Clemson receiver that thinks he's all that and a bag of chips, hell, yes, I'm all over it. Damn it, this is a rivalry game and not a pillow fight (although that's what ACC games seem to be).
