25, yet one of those teams is going to the orange bowl. we are 10-2, with losses only to uf and lsu and we are currently in sixth place in the sec. We will probably get the outback or gator..darn, that is sad.

The BCS is trying to give each major conference a slot in one of their bowls, even though they aren't the most deserving team.
I understand how it's shaken out this year, and why one of those teams gets to pay in it.
My point is though, these BCS bowls are support to be "prestigious" but we get to watch some crap team play because they have to take a member of the Big East? Lame.

I bet the Orange Bowl wishes it had never made the deal with the acc/big least. You would think they could have seen how bad the acc championship games in Florida were.

The orange bowl doesn't have a deal with the big east.
It just got slotted last pick the past two years.

It's even more of a joke that in the new system a team from one of the lower conferences (WAC, Mac, Mwc, Big East, CUSA, and Sun Belt) has to go to a BCS bowl.

Under the new rules the highest ranked champ of one of those gets an Auto Bid, not sure what the rule is if one happens to be in the 4 team playoff too.

I am not sure that is correct....

I think that the only way that they get an auto bid is if they A)win their conference and finish in the BCS top 16 and B)the conference champion of an automatic qualifier conference finishes outside the top 25 (or maybe it is top 20)...then they get an auto bid. I may be a little off but it is because of the Big East potentially not having a confrerence champion in the top 25 (or top 20) that the MAC might get Kent State (at team that lost to UK) into the BCS

Simple way to solve this-

1 plays 2
3 plays 4
5 plays 6
7 plays 8
9 plays 10

Get the biggest 5 bowls together & Bid on the top games year by year. I know, it is just to simple, we have to complicate it more.
