No, it doesn't. I know we try to make everything about money these days, but it certainly matters which bowl...there is a pecking order involved and respect and quality of opponent are at stake.

If it didn't matter since the money will be split anyways...who cares if we go to the Capital One Bowl or Music City Bowl?

Besides, if 3 extra hours of driving is going to change your mind about driving vs flying...then you probably aren't concerned with the costs in the first place.

So, I just saved at least 7 hours of driving and got to see the SAME NYD afternoon match-up against a Big Ten team, in Florida, at an NFL Stadium.

Live in GSP/Charlotte? Add another 4 hours to that drive time saved.

I don't want the Gator simply because it's seen as less prestigious. Florida went last year in a very down year for them.

I get that, but I think it's been argued pretty well in this thread that perception in not reality.

The Outback and Gator are about the same. Especially this season.

Again, "being there" 3 other times in 12 years is irrelevant to me as a fan and someone who wants to see our program move forward.

Look, I am not against driving to Jacksonville for a bowl game...I just think it is a step down from what we should be desiring, especially since we are already getting somewhat of a shaft in this special year with 6 SEC teams in top 10 to compete for spots with.

However, the options look to be more like Northwestern/Michigan (Outback) or Northwestern/Wisconsin (Gator). I don't see Michigan falling to Gator Bowl in any scenario and would rather play NW or Michigan. Wisconsin will likely be a 7-6 team going into their bowl. Wisconsin will either upset Nebraska for a BCS slot or will fall to the Gator because they don't belong in their championship game in the first place.

If Wisconsin loses to Nebraska, Michigan will be in the Capital One...Northwestern in the Outback...and the Badgers in the Gator Bowl.

Now, even if the Badgers pull the upset...that puts Nebraska automatically in the Capital One, then Michigan in the Outback.

Well, for selfish reasons, I would love to see USC in the Gator. I also would love that monkey off of our back (never winning the Gator). Having gone to the LSU game in 87, it still rubs me the wrong way. I also think that shaving 6-7 total hours of drive time off of anyone coming from SC might be nice. 4 hours vs 7 AND missing dreadful I-4 would make it worth it to me.

Of course, I would love to roll out of bed, drive over the Hart bridge, have a cold one or five and watch the cocks play at Everbank. Would love to see some old friends too. I think it's more likely they come drive 3-4 hours down.

I also think that New Years on the river is better than New Years in Ybor. There's usually fireworks, too.

I listened to Heath Cline's show today (The best one on 107.5 by far), and he does have a lot of ties down in Florida (Used to be a beat writer for the Gators)...

Anyway, as of right now.... He is hearing its probably going to be the Outback, but if not the Outback, it will almost for sure be the Gator... He says the Cap-1 is a longshot at best, and the CFA will not have a Clemson-Carolina rematch...
