lb is NOT a concern. lewis and cooper are excellent lb's. the only reason they didn't play more, was the coaching staff's piece of mind of having four seniors with a ton of sec game experience in front of them. these coaches had a hard time keeping these two off the field, even with so many seniors in front of them. they will be a serious upgrade in athleticism. then there are several excellent recruits coming in behind them. so lb isn't a concern for me at all. neither is spur. golightly and diggs are much more athletic than holloman, as holloman grew too large in my opinion. it was great for run stopping, but he became a liability some times in pass protection. i know he led the team in int's, but sometimes you are just in the right place at the right time. so i'm not bashing him, just think a lighter more athletic spur serves our purposes much better.
i actually feel great about every position on the team. but i do have conflicting feelings on the ol. i feel great about them, because we redshirted some excellent talent, and have great talent on the two deep right now, losing only johnson for next year. i also feel great about the talent coming in. we have recruited very well for both lines. but i also expected more from this group this season, and it never seemed to happen. after seeing elliot do so much with so little in the past, i am a little baffled by what happen to this unit this year. can the whole thing be laid on youth? i don't know. i hope it can. next year we will easily have our most talented ol, maybe ever. they will be deeper, bigger and stronger than any ol we have ever had. so IF elliot can coach them into one of the best ol's in the sec, we will be champions. if not, another coaching change might be in the works. they are the only real concern on this entire team for next season. we will go the way they go. hopefully that is to unparalleled success.
