He ripped his visit during the showcase earlier this year. Who knows, he may have had a change of heart with all of those DB's UGA has committed but I highly doubt it. I really really really hope we turn up the heat on Mackensie Alexander.

He didn't rip us. He said our campus was boring. Anyone that knows anything about USC knows it's fun, we were voted a top 20 party school and we have every college kid's dream, 5 points. It's a blast. If he visits and sees 5 points or hangs out with the team then he'll have a lot of fun. He was here when it was raining and for a showcase in the summer when student's are gone and campus is dead.

While no one really knows but the recruit, I believe it was really between Bama and Carolina for Clowney and Auburn and Carolina for Lattimore. Clowney's mom liked Clemson late but Clowney wasn't going to play in the ACC. Gilmore was going to Clemson until we got EJ and they made staff changes. But it wasn't really close after we got EJ on him.

Yeah I was mostly talking about during the final year of recruiting which I place more weight on where a prospect is leaning than say when they are sophomores or juniors in high school. Still too much time left for kids to change their minds, and they haven't really visited or met with coaching staffs much at that point, or got any in-depth info on how they would fit into coaching staff's plans for them.

Gilmore was leaning towards CU as a Jr. in HS, but by the spring of '08 he was already turning towards USC. Both TBS and Rivals had him either leaning to USC with UA 2nd, or tied with UA, during July and August. This was when CU was still being hyped as a top-10 team for 2008 and a dark horse for the MNC. By the time CU played Bama in their season-opener, they were pretty much only mentioned as an "also-ran" by Gilmore, and they never made back any lost ground, especially after Bowden was fired.

So from my viewpoint, during Gilmore's final year of recruitment Clemson wasn't really a factor with him. There were still some concerns with ML and JC regarding Clemson much closer to NSD than there was with Gilmore, even if those concerns were unnecessary....

And I said UGA was a finalist above, but meant UT....

Gilmore was always USC bound. Clemson was just there. it was 1.USC 2.USC 3.Clemson

I'm no expert and I could be reading too much into it, but it sounds like this guy wants the coaches to recruit him. We may be behind a little bit here, but if we turn the heat up and somehow get him in for an OV, you never know.

Either way, I'd just like to see us go after him a little more and give ourselves a chance.
